I bought this monitor last year for around $800 on Amazon. It has all the features you could ask for in a gaming monitor. I use it mostly for work and the size/ultra wide is a dream for productivity especially large excel spreadsheets.

For gaming specifically, the issue is I have an 65 LG OLED as well. And once you use oled for gaming, you don't really want to go back - picture quality wise (colors specifically) games always look better on oled. I have a gtx 3090 that can take full advantage of the gsync/frame rate this monitor provides but OLED still looks better to me PQ wise.

Once the Alienware oled monitor gets in the 800-1000 range I'll buy that and use this as a good backup

whats so good about this monitor?

I got the 34" VA gigabyte for $299 and very happy with the deep blacks. Are people really paying $600-$1000 for IPS glow? and its only rated at 400 nits...i am very glad VA cost way less because i cant stand IPS glow in black scenes,
Where'd you find it at that price? Can't find it lower than $377 at Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-G...C83&sr=8-1

If you can resell the speaker locally for like $100 it's not a bad deal tbh. But the AW3420 deal combined with Dell AMEX offer and CB portal really spoiled me

Where is the AW3420?

Does anyone know if this LG is on the same line of the LG monitor from Costco that was on sale few weeks ago?

The sale has passed already. It was YMMV back a month or two ago.

72hz refresh, low contrast (700 typical, 1000 max), dim (300 nits) - except for the resolution, that's a pretty meh panel except for bus/desktop use.

Does the monitor come with 1-yr or 3-yr warranty? Buydig's web site shows 1-yr but LG's web site shows 3-yr?

VA (6-12ms) is also much slower in response times than these more expensive Nano IPS (3-4ms) panels while having smeary text/fonts.

There's a tradeoff for whatever panel you choose and I actually prefer using a similar quality 38" Nano IPS UW (38" AW3821DW) than my C1 OLED for both work and play. The OLED is superior for watching content but that's a given.

Why would you use the monitor instead of your oled tv ? do you play fps on the 38 inch or only sim ?
