Does this definitely support charging over usb c? I can't find confirmation.
I know it says PD but I assumed that means it can charge other devices? Thanks in advance,
It can do 135w via usb c

I'm torn between this one or the asus for $1300 https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/732526 this one has a slightly better processor but the asus looks like it will outperform in the graphics. The screen isn't super important since the majority of the time it'll be connected to a monitor. Thoughts on which route to go?

Can the RTX 3060 in this computer play GTA 5 on the highest settings?

The GPU on the Strix will definitely do better in games. Probably 30-40% better FPS all else being equal, and the RX 6800M has double the VRAM for future-proofing.

If you value performance, the Strix is the clear winner. But there are a few factors in favor of the Legion and how much they matter is up to you.
  • Screen
  • Overall build quality (metal vs plastic), and cleaner design
  • Traditional heat paste (more reliable than Strix's liquid metal)
  • Gen 4 SSD
  • DDR5 RAM

Do not buy this. Thermals are terrible and goodluck cooling this thing when you have a 1440P panel. Won't be able to undervolt the components enough.

I repeat DO NOT buy this. ~pc enthusiast
Do you have any videos or links to support the thermal issues on this laptop, specifically on the new Coldfront 4.0? I am asking because I cannot find much in terms of specs, beyond just what it is.

Pretty sure he is just trolling. While models with vapor chambers or water cooling will be better, last year's Legion 5 Pro was one of the few with full-powered components in its price range, and had absolutely no problems with thermals. I can't see why this model would be any different.

Also, Ryzen can't be undervolted at all (nor can 12th Gen Intels AFAIK), so again, pretty sure he is just trolling.

I wonder what he expects in terms of actual temps of components when stressing the hardware, and what he is seeing.

I turn off TurboBoost for quiet and normal modes, it makes for a very cool machine (while still having the option for higher cycles with High Performance if I really need it). The GPU is not really what you have to worry about when it comes to heat in most cases.

Pro Tip: You don't need it in High Performance mode hardly ever.

I'm guessing this is the 240hz panel, which doesn't have Display HDR 400 like the 165hz one does. Not sure how much difference that makes...
