I missed the 4th of July deal for this when it dropped to ~$450. Is this "buy it now" territory or should I wait for Prime day?

I can't say for certain, but I believe I've only seen this sub-$500 about 4-5 times over the past 8 years since I bought my first. One of my employees bought it on a deal about 3 years ago at $480-ish and I bought a second on the 4th deal. I'd say it wholly depends on your need. If you need one now, this is likely the best price you'll see except for the less than once a year average of below $500.

No one can tell the future, but my best guess would be that this is the lowest price you might see on this for awhile. The July 4th price was really good, but these don't go on sale very often. So, if you need it somewhat soon I'd say go for it.

These are great saws, I only ever hear good things about them. I teach carpentry to a lot of people that what to do basic to semi advanced carpentry, and I always recommend this or the Metabo.
