Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Has anyone put a screen protector on this and works with the fingerprint?

Mines was working without protector, but after I put on spigen tempered glass screen protector I can't get register any fingerprint because it just fails at the end and says try another finger but no matter what I try it always ends up saying the same thing.
Did you turn on " increase touch sensitivity"? That's what it's for. It works with my Spigen screen protector. With or without the screen protector, the fingerprint detector seems slower than it did on the Pixel 6, which I owned for about 3 days before this.

I see somebody else posted about the setting as well.,

I'm wondering when they will give the current updates for the phone. The last update was April for the phone.
I read an article that they have started to send out the June release, but they're doing it waves.

Just got the 6a and transferred my data over from a 3a XL, so far not liking the new swipe back gesture. On the 3a XL there was a dedicated in-screen back button on the bottom of the screen. More work just to go back to previous scree now.
I hated it too when it first came out on my 4a but you get used to it. Now I'm lost without it on older phones that don't have it. Funny how that works.

I used it on the 3A for years. Maybe it took a touch of getting used to, but I much prefer it.

After factory resetting, should you go through the basic setup or just leave it and shut it down?
Why are you factory resetting 6a?

Just realized my 3a broken screen doesn't respond to touch, I was able to factory reset with web instructions, I hope that's good enough to get my $295.
My 3a is perfect screen looks wise, but somehow has lost touch on partial screen and I am also stuck on setup page.

So it's a "garbage phone" but you haven't opened the box yet?
I have a Pixel 6 pro and its marred with issues.

If their flagship phone is atrocious.....

Well you guys are about to find out.

6a feels really sluggish in performance compared to 6 Pro that's my daily driver at the moment. Haven't installed single additional app...

And it's speedy compared to my 4a so it's all a matter of perspective.

Just got mine all set up. Also coming off of a 4A. Not sure what all the hate's about. Working great so far. Then again, I didn't have much to complain about the speed of the 4A. Just couldn't pass up on the deal.

That's my thing, trying to figure out is e this is a garbage phone, people just went in with unrealistic expectations, or maybe somewhere in the middle? My son set his up last night and it seemed fine. Mine should come today so we will see.

I'd prolly still be on my Pixel 3 if freaking google hadn't trashed the battery life with updates. At first I preferred the 3 over the 4A but eventually took a liking to the 4A. I'd imagine this upgrade will follow a similar path.

For me the latest update of Google camera app is force closing. Sometimes even forcing a system reboot. Uninstalling the latest makes it much bearable. Anyone else with same behavior

Unfortunately when I try to initiate return, returning the buds shows estimated refund of $0.00... If I return the phone, it shows $489.
Do you think it's because mine were shipped separately? The promo product page addressed this, saying if you return the buds, you'll get a proportional return. Weird. Sorry it's not working for ya!
