Dell has the Inspiron 7425 2-in-1 14-inch convertible (Yoga-type) on sale for $587.99 - $49 for McAfee auto-renewal = $539.99. Unlike with most of their deals, the 12% Capital One Spring coupon [capitalone.com] applies, bringing this to $474.31.

Instructions:
  • Retrieve the 12% Captial One Spring coupon
  • Convert the coupon into a Dell coupon
  • Configure the laptop with the following:
    • "McAfee® LiveSafe™ 12-month subscription auto-renew" when configuring the laptop. This will deduct $49 from the total.
  • Remember to cancel the subscription to avoid being charged the recurring $119 annual fee after the 1st year

Important: The code you get from Capital One is not the coupon code, you need to copy & paste that onto the linked Dell page to get the actual coupon code. Also, you do NOT have to have any account with Capital One to sign up for Spring.

I was able to stack this with two Amex offers ($120 off $599 and +1 MR points by adding the active pen to bring this over $600 including tax).

Specs:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5625U with Zen 3 architecture, 6 cores, 12 threads
  • 14-inch 16:10 (1920 x 1280) wide viewing angle (IPS-type) display, 250 nits
  • 8GB 3200 MHz RAM installed in one SODIMM slot (leaving another slot free, recommend installing another 8GB module for dual-channel operation
  • 512GB NVME SSD in m.2 slot
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Fingerprint reader
  • MediaTek 802.11ax WiFi/Bluetooth (I recommend replacing with Intel AX200)
  • 54 WHr battery - bigger than average, should be good for at least 7-8 hours of normal use
  • 1080p front camera
  • Pebble green (very pale green)
  • Exterior chassis materials: aluminum
  • Weight: 3.6 lbs
  • Ports:
    • SD card reader
    • USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
    • Audio jack
    • HDMI 1.4i
    • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ with Power Delivery and DisplayPort
    • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ with Power Delivery and DisplayPort

Decent laptop for the price. It had everything I was looking for, touchscreen, backlit keyboard, USB-C charging, pen capable.

For $16 and about 10 minutes of work, I was able to add another 8GB of RAM, bringing it to 16GB. The pen direct from Dell was another $40. It has been a great little machine.
Yes, also have 1 free slot for another RAM
For those of you not using an Amex deal, it looks like there is a way to get this for even cheaper: $474.31

You need to select the following option when configuring the laptop:

This will take off an additional $49 from the total.

Do you have to buy 2 new 8gb or 1 would be fine?

It already comes with 8gb of memory. There is a second memory slot open where you can add more memory. I bought an 8gb card to get it to a total of 16gb, which is enough for what I need out of this laptop. You can certainly purchase a bigger memory card like a 16gb, but obviously you will pay more for that.

Still works for me. Are you trying with multiple coupons? If so, it may be removing the 12% since they may not stack.

Yes, to bring the price down to 474 as OP mentioned, two coupons must be used.

After reading the following 2 pro reviews (ref from previous FP deal), I bit on this deal:
1) https://www.pcworld.com/article/5...udget.html

2) https://www.notebookcheck.net/Del...437.0.html

And can find cheap 8gb stick of RAM for upgrade as others have noted. Just ensure you buy DD4 3200 mHz so it matches the existing 8GB.

I bought the higher spec model of this laptop when it was on sale a couple weeks ago... had a ton of issues out of the box like some others have mentioned in this thread... network dropouts, trackpad issues, and blue screens.

I was about to send it back but decided to try a clean windows install (from Microsoft media, not Dell's recovery). After reinstalling Windows, its been rock solid. The only tricky part is that the network drivers weren't available during Windows install, so you have to use the task manager to kill the "lets get you connected to the network" portion of the install.

All these laptop deals at Dell and never have the Amex savings. Amex, sucks. I add tons of offers and never anything worth a dime.

Does it freeze skip etc or what was wrong with it specifically?

Yes, that is the one that I just purchased this morning. I'd rather spend the extra $7 or $8 for a reliable name brand like Crucial than a generic brand.
Thanks! Sorry I'm a bum when it comes to computer parts!

I qualify for the Amex 120 off 599
But I'm really interested in the HP below.
I don't care for touch screen. And the screen size doesn't make a difference.
I want a laptop to edit videos and upload to YouTube.
Not sure if the dell is worth $100 more
I will update the HDD on the hP

I didn't have any issues with the mediatek chip however I did replace the Wi-Fi with the intel ax200ngw Wi-Fi 6 chip due to its stellar rep. I paid $20 for it and it was very easy to swap.
have you replaced by your own? At dell website, they say it is only acceptable to replace for a Aetheros? Isnt true?

Have you changed the wireless card?
