This is for people who need built in graphics. I recently switched to a 5600G from my 3700X as I wanted to get rid of my video card. Works really well and drives my 4K and 2K monitors with no issues. Would have jumped on the 5700G, but picked up the 5600G for $135 from the local Microcenter. Really happy with it so far.

I saw this sale and thought to myself if it's under $200 might be a deal. Well no.

I am decidedly NOT a gamer and I use the 5600g and I love it. I have Windows on it and run a Linux VM 24/7 and it's never seems taxed. And when I do decide to check out the occasional game it's adequate and I didn't have to dump a boat load of money into a graphics care I'd rarely utilize.

This is tough. The 5700G is a good chip, but the 5700X was on sale for $245 recently. No iGPU on the X model, but a lot more L3 cache. With fast RAM, the 5700G is great for emulation all the way through Yuzu. Regular games is a different story, but if you play eSports titles at 720p/1080p on Low/Medium mix, it should be fine. Still, if you have a stand-alone GPU already, you're gonna get better performance with the 5700X.

From my understanding they are banned on this site. Not sure why just what I've gathered from other posts/comments.

Good riddance to the Ant. Scalpers during the GPU fiasco and no customer support.

5700G is equal in performance with i7-11700k with better graphics at a lower price and 50% of the wattage. It's literally the best cpu out there for anything but gaming and if it's older titles or less graphically intense it'll do those. Also decent for amateur video, audio, editing and less complex Auto-cad. I typically prefer Intel but the 5600G and 5700G are superior to Intel price equivalents. Really simple build in ITX format for office use.

100% agree, and I am super happy with mine. No need for a video card.

Wondering if I should swap out my son's Ryzen 5 3400G for this?!? His existing B450 Asus board will take it, as I recall. Conflicted because he got a 6600 XT for his birthday this spring, and that's a PCIe 4.0 capable card....so the B450 is limiting him!

Have you seen any reviews of 6600xt on pcie 3 vs 4? It's minimal, like 2% difference

as the other guy said your 6600xt is not really being limited by pcie 3.0, but I still think you should absolutely upgrade your son's cpu to this one.

the cpu performance uplift should be greater than 100%

Well you can get a b450m for as low as $70 so you are basically there.
