Its like putting a Chevy Sonic and a Corvette on the same level because they are both Chevys. Someone could potentially mine crypto with a console but they don't because it sucks

Most games are optimized for Nvidia on day one.
It takes AMD a few driver issues to get to the sweet spots but they get there
Currently AMD drivers are doing really well

Also FSR 2.0 is still inferior to DLSS 2.0 when in motion.

I am waiting for 4000series or AMD 7000s, not at launch; I will hold until the 7900s or 4080TI.

The 6900XT ranks between the 3070 and the 3070 Ti at ray tracing performance:

The 6900XT handles ray tracing fine, the 3080 may be better but the 3070 isn't
Ray tracing was an Nvidia thing. An evolution of thier physics effect tm... Lol.
It's a miracle that AMD can even do ray tracing at all without the dedicated tensor cores and Nvidia is probably pissed about it. It just shows the the complete domination in developer support AMD has because of the consoles.
Nvidia has had a ton of driver problems for several years.
I was a fan of the physics effects and even bought a second Nvidia card back in the day to be a dedicated physics card and I have a 3080 ti because I like ray tracing.
But the AMD 6000 series wipes the floor with the Nvidia 3000 series in most metrics. Cost per frame, power consumption, AMD cool and quiet tm lol, 1 percent lows, even the AMD version of dssl is already eclipsing it.
The dev support for AMD is unreal, hard to put a price on the free R&D from the consoles.
The driver thing is a myth clung to by the most fanatical Nvidia fanboys.
I have Nvidia hardware and the driver issues they have aren't enough to make it a bad experience and they do a pretty good job with patches and support but it is enough for me to avoid new games sometimes and do Google searches for driver problems.
Nvidia cards are amazing and they have went multiple generations with AMD completely locked out of the high end market but they have rapidly caught up and there would be no reason to have a 3000 series GPU without ray tracing.
If AMD goes hard on ray tracing this next generation and they release some bullshit ps5, Xbox ray tracing edition console...... It will be difficult to justify a 4000 series GPU.
The MSRP prices were a gigantic joke.
Without crypto mining these MSRP's would have faced the greatest market price rejection of all time.
THE REAL TRUTH IS... the last few years is the cheapest that it has ever been to buy a GPU.
Who cares if a GPU is 2,000 dollars if it's mining 6,000 dollars of Ethereum a year that you are selling daily or weekly on Coinbase.
It's extremely surprising that GPU's were not just priced at thier annual hash production rate for the weeks meme coin.
That's why it didn't matter what price a 3060 was, it sold out anyways. Mining made anything less then a few thousand dollars a helluva deal.
In reality mining profitablity hit a Brick wall several months ago just on difficulty. Things were running on the fumes of hope that cryptos would 2x or 3x or 10x and they did the inverse instead. Allot of people got burned on mining investments that never hit profitability for investment and probably never will now.
Even if mining took off again somehow, there would be a several month lag before investors had the confidence to jump back on the boat again.
It will be a true miracle and a full Renaissance of PC gaming for people who are actually using thier computers as gaming PCs to support these prices.
People will be selling decorated and bedazzled 3060's on Etsy as coasters and paperweights. GPU's being unavailable will not be an issue for the foreseeable future.

You have to pay more for a feature that's heavy on resources and skinny on in-play improvements. Maybe in a few years
