Ultimately, saving 10% on Apple products shouldn't be FP. I understand the popularity and/or pride in ownership (let's call it that). But there are notable compromises with Apple products just like with non-Apple products, and when people insist on paying full price, you always get full price (or just 10% off). Of course, it requires a macro-economic level of behavior shift, but SD has that level of market influence. SDers drop their thrify-ness with regard to Apple. And SD stands to gain a lot from link-referrals and pushing Apple.
tldr; this price point is common and yet people go nuts over a small savings on Apple.
