2nd Gen Cube is better as said. I have 2 of these and 2 of the 4K Max sticks and the Cube is faster/snappier. It has double the internal storage (16GB vs 8GB) which helps if you use Kodi. Another advantage is it comes with a wired ethernet adapter which I use.

Good chance that Amazon will match the price if both Best Buy and Target have it cheaper. If that happens you can get the 20% trade-in discount.

Same price at Target.

This is a good deal - I've got a 1st Gen, but still am unsure if the Cube is better than just one of the sticks. Marginally better to have the Alexa capability always listening but it is marginal.

Cube is actually better in performance and function than any FireTV stick unless you need WiFi6 which is only available in Max. The current one has the new remote but otherwise the same as the original Cube. I got one for $40 in Prime Day with additional discount last month while I also have the original Cube for a couple years.

So hopefully you can answer. I have a 4k max stick as well and auto frame rate match only works with prime content. Disney+ and other apps stream at 60frames which causes judder on my screen. Does the cube offer anything improvements with third party apps?

I really have to say we had the first cube, we just upgraded on Amazon's prime days. The new one is so much quicker! It's really an amazing device for the price at this point.

Those of you using Kodi, are you hosting your own material? Do you use Plex?
How is performance on this cube compared to Chromecast Google TV?

Is this mainly used for tvs with no smart features built in? I do own roku sticks, etc and use it mainly with my projector but what do you all use it for if you have a smart tv? Also, can you use Alexa to open apps and play certain shows? For example can I say "Alexa open Disney now". "Alexa play lightyear" and will it work like that or would I still need the controller?

Alexa will turn on TV and connected devices. Will play content through voice commands. I have a smart TV but this is 5x faster and more reliable.
