Correct— You'll also need a heatsink. Not expensive but a must if you're putting it in the PS5.
Are you comparing SATA vs M2? What's your use case? Is it going to be a boot drive or just file storage? You'll want to answer those questions first. If it's just for random desktop PC storage there's no major benefit to replacing a SATA SSD with an M2.
I will need more than 2 TB drive. So I'm debating if I should add a 1TB or 2TB M.2.
I'm thinking total of 4TB might be overkill since I already have a NAS. I have not upgrade my PC for almost 10 yrs, just wondering if 3TB in total would be good enough for daily/light gaming for the next 5 yrs or so
