Great for making pancakes. Instead of just dumping the batter into the pan you can add a extra step and put it into this then you have twice the clean up when washing dishes.
Don't think I have enough buddies to fill 4 cups of batter.
Bought one and the plastic handle cracked rendering it useless. I wouldn't waste my money on this.

I wonder how viable it would be to mix up the batter directly in this thing. That would be super convenient.

Placed an order, looked at pictures in reviews, plus realized 4 cups is probably not enough for my needs. I tried to cancel the order.
Got an email saying the order couldn't be cancelled.
11 minutes between the order confirmation email and the sorry can't cancel message.

Yes, but what's the alternative, eat a pancake that's not a perfect circle? What kind of barbarian would do that?

4 cups seems like a weird amount for something like this. It's not as many pancakes as you might think (depending on diameter), and this seems like it would only be useful if you were going to be dishing out dozens of them.

Here's a video review of this product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HmD1hMUu7g

Good price but niche product. If you're cooking on a large griddle and making lots of pancakes at once this might come in handy.

My understanding from reports from IHOP cooks on Reddit, they use a dispenser somewhat similar to this to ensure the shape and thickness of their pancakes are consistant. Of course IHOP cooks use a much more expensive dispenser that is stainless steel and the amount dispensed is dialed in using a pumping mechanism so you can't make a mistake (3 pumps regular pancake, 4 pumps larger pancake, etc).

My understanding is that the dispenser IHOP cooks use is similar to this model:

Still, this deal is pretty inexpensive to test if using a batter dispenser is worth it in your cooking situation. It probably makes making homemade cupcakes or muffins a lot easier since you need to be very precise how much and where the batter goes. For me, I'll just stick with a ladel.

You can easily make perfect circle pancakes by using smaller pans and filling to the edge of the pan. Sometimes I use a large pan and make 1 giant perfectly circular pancake.

It's great for making pancakes BUT the plastic handle easily breaks. It seems the same vendor has a stainless steel version for $21 which would be an better option plus saving the environment with too much plastic garbage…

I bought it received it used it hated it and then returning it. It is very flimsy. If you don't let go of the handle fast enough it closes slowly and creates a bit of splatter or angled stream that makes your pancake not circular. And if you pump the handle too fast you feel like you're going to break it because it's cheap plastic that is basically loose. Overall I kind of like the idea and if I found a deal on a better brand like Oxo maybe I would buy it but this one is not worth even the $9.
