Is this from experience owning this tool, or are you attempting a "gotcha"? I only ask because it says "rust-resistant stainless steel" on both the sticker affixed to the blade & in the product description. I get that it says "carbon steel" in the title of the listing & on the product page.... but, it is described as stainless in multiple places & I don't see any reviewers on Lowes.com stating that it rusts. I guess all 37 reviewers meticulously dry their brush after use with nary a complaint.
I've been using a Purdy wire comb for years and it works great. I'm a homeowner who's done a lot of painting, not a contractor.
I have it. I do not dry it. It has no rust.

This is not stainless steel, it is carbon steel.
OP's title is wrong.
Forget to dry it one time and it will be covered in rust.

This thing is awesome, have used the same one for years and I do a lot of painting.
Thanks, I may invest. Although I do harbor suspicions about why it would be in the best interests of Purdy, the maker of some of the finest paintbrushes, to extend the life of the same.
Damn this high heat and painting with acrylic/latex!
