Honestly, the changes they made in favor of their "TotalCrap" subscription model are probably what is going to be their downfall. Not sure who thought that was a smart decision to make, but I no longer have any interest in shopping there. 15 days is an absolutely joke of a return period.
That's an absolute lie. Not a single ad on their app it's very fast and easy to use. Motion detection works 100% of the time after you set it up properly. You are probably using a different brand.

I don't recommend Eufy in general. I have some of their indoor cameras, and the doorbell. Their app sucks. It's very slow to load, and is full of ads. Not to mention sometimes the cameras just do not alert when they are supposed to. I've missed porch movement from a package delivery because it just didn't even catch it.

The only saving grace for the indoor cams is they offer RTSP, so I funnel those into my BlueIris setup for actual camera management. Unfortunately, the doorbell doesn't offer it.

I updated my original post, I misspoke about the ads. With that said, the app is still slow. The point I'm making here is that everytime you load the app, it must go through their server first.

Local RTSP is a 100% better option.

And maybe motion detection works perfectly for you, but that doesn't mean it works perfectly for everyone. I'm here to say it's imperfect for me.

One benefit of the BlueIris software (that reads RTSP among other protocols) is that it does a rolling overwrite of older video when the drive reaches your set maximum. I set mine up with a 10k RPM 1TB drive, which is plenty for any FPS 30 and under. However I still set mine at 15 or less, because of the impact on my wifi network. I'm going to eventually upgrade to wired, but wireless gave me the capacity to determine where I wanted the cameras to be permanently set. Once I do that, I may try setting them to 30 FPS because I can't see any other negatives by that point. More data may eventually be useful one day.
Not a fan of Blue Iris personally. I used it for years and it (or Windows) was never stable enough for me, seemed very resource intensive and didn't nicely integrate with my mobile devices. I recently switched to dockerized versions of Frigate and Shinobi, and have been really happy with the switch (especially Frigate -- amazingly awesome piece of software). I've now started playing around with CompreFace, Double Take and Home Assistant for facial recognition notifications -- but my instances of those aren't ready for deployment to the other home users yet.

I'll take a look at those alternatives, thanks for mentioning. Currently I run BlueIris on its own PC I had spare, so it's fine for it to take all the resources. It runs stable for me. But I am open to comparing features to other softwares, especially if they are compatible with Home Assistant, which I am deeply invested into.

Wyze Cam Floodlight supports 24/7 recording.

I got 4 Eufy camera and I am getting bored with event triggered recording. I just bought a Kasa indoor camera. I am so happy with 24/7 recording. It makes me feel confident that I won't miss a thing if I want to know what happened. I am thinking of adding more 24/7 recording capable outdoor cameras in my house. Wyze and Kasa are options that I have at this time.

Did they fix the LED lights on this thing? I have the 1st gen 1080p Eufy Floodlight with the more square looking lights and while the camera and motion sensor still work, both LED lights have failed.

I've installed the WYZE flood light on two homes and its fantastic. It offers an SD card slot and HD video. The range of motion detection and length of light staying on when triggered is all very customizable. You can have conversations through it..... etc. They Eufy is probably good as well but in this case, Wyze has the upper hand on the garage light IMHO. I actually have a Eufy doorbell cam (my only non wyze camera) because it offered 32gb of onboard storage for continuous recording. The wired WYZE doorbell cam only records 12 sec of any "event" and you are forced to pay for additional recording options as there is no SD slot or internal storage.

Internal storage makes no sense on such cameras - a thief can steal the camera and they got the recordings/data too. If you go with eufy make sure you get the base station that goes inside - it steams the recordings to the base station which does have expandable storage.

The eufy floodlight cam doesn't work with the eufy base station. The storage is internal to the camera unit only.

Got 2 more. Just be aware of BB 14 day return policy. Made a mistake with another Eufy camera and I am stuck with it.

That's a rip off. Especially if the product is defective

Does this only have local storage on an sd card if I wanted to use at a cabin with no internet? Or do you have to have Internet to set it up and for it to work correctly?

Need internet to set it up, so far the best camera for detection and alerts for me.

Got this for $60 back when it was on clearance at Home Depot. Best security camera purchase to date. Also, the floodlight is great where you can set it up via detection or on from dusk to dawn.

So much hate for wyze. People want everything for free, when wyze nicely said they can't keep offering what they offer for free, people revolted. Then wyze said OK pay what you can even pennies, and kept the features. I have few wyze cams and door bell and locks they work fine for the price, floodlight cam is also nice, SD card feature beats everything else for the price too and has USB port for 2nd cam.
