Based on Seagate latest investor notes .... I think we may see a surplus of enterprise disk drives hit the market soon.

If you have the proof of purchase, it is 5 years from that date. If you lose that proof, then your 4.5 year would be correct.

No mention of any warranty in the specs on Newegg's page. Any ideas?

The ones I got had about 4.5 years according to the Seagate warranty check. So I guess the 5 years isn't from purchase date but it was fairly close I guess.

I've bought 6 of these since purchasing my 1621+ over a 15 month period.

Bought through hyperhawk on Amazon after researching all the issues people had registering these OEMs and warranty registered without issue.

hmmm…anyone think BF or holiday deals will be better than this? I am looking to bump up my second raid from 8TB, so 14TB isn't ideal but this is a solid deal per TB compared to recent NAS drives.

I recently purchased two of these drives when they were one sale a few weeks ago, and I can report no issues at all. They both had the OEM 5 year warranty.

Meanwhile I bought 2 a month ago and they're doing perfectly. Quite speedy, and very quiet for an "enterprise" drive IMO

The bathtub failure model is real, y'all.

Ehh. Bf is usually more external drives, which usually have the sata power connector issue when shucked.

Plus the bf deal increased from 2020 to 2021 (189, to 200 or 210)

This kind of Nas drive is a good deal.

They'll still help you out. At least from my anecdotal experience.
