One of the few flash drives that work for wii modding if you need a cheap way in to do it and don't want to go the external hard drive route.

According to Amazon I purchased this in 2014 for $35. Assuming this is exactly the same and PNY didn't cost down the product, it is a good flash drive. It has fast writes compared to the typical cheap USB 3.x drives, and mine still works albeit with minimal use.

The only negative is that the sliding design kind of sucks. Sure you don't lose a cap, but the slider sometimes gets stuck and takes some force to get moving.

Looks like this is $1 cheaper than last time.

Bought one about the same time and it's great still works. Bought two more last year and are either fake or they've gotten much worse. The original would have pretty steady read write speeds, the new ones peak at a quarter the speed of the original and even then that speed isn't sustained.

I bought this drive a few years back for close to $60 lol.. It's a good drive, unlike many others it didn't bend or die and I'm still using it for work years later!!

Yes I have this form factor and I can't stand the design for the exact reason you mention.

I some of these a few years ago (I think Staples was clearing them out!) and my experience then was that they had WIDELY varying performance. My guess was that PNY just put whatever random flash memory that they had and barely did any testing on them since 2 of the 8 that I got died on me. A handful were very fast for writing (100MB/s), some were ok (40-50MB/s) and a couple were pretty awful (10-20MB/s). Read speed was generally ok, but was at least 2-3x slower on some vs others.

I've bought others over the years and they all have ended up being a crap shoot. You might get a really good one, one that dies on you or just something mediocre.
