Apple's labor costs are higher than you think . Even though the Chinese workers don't make much — if any —money and are locked in their factories like slaves —those savings don't get passed on to poor Apple because the Chinese government makes a lot of money by marking up the labor costs to make tons of money off of the workers' backs. So Apple is not actually getting cheap labor because of their patriotic corporate commitment to supporting their Chinese government!
