Ryzen 5600G is for $130 if you don't care about PCIe 4.0 and 7% less performance.

Isn't it cheaper than $165 at both Amazon and Newegg? Plus, it looks like you get the Uncharted game with this, no? Or is that just for the 5700x? It's listed on the Amazon page under special offer when I looked.

No.

1. This deal is for Amazon.

2. On newegg its $30 more expensive there.

Edit: 3. You still get uncharted with this.

Hmmm... ahhhh... I see. I was looking at the 5600 non-x. Which is $130 with the game on newegg right now. My bad. Not sure the extra $35 is worth it for most folks, but to each their own.

Or 5600 if you care about PCIe 4.0 (and may be just 5% less performance), the trade off is no internal graphic. I think AMD is doing a good job on CPU, allowing us to choose "what we want"

I picked up the 5600G for my 10 year old's computer build. He wants basic gaming, but at least that gives us a base to build up from on the AM4 platform.

Parts are still going to be around for quite some time.

Is this the best bang of buck cpu for occasionally gaming on med settings?

Where are you getting only 7% loss of performance? The underlying design is dramatically different on the 5600G with a substantial cut to cache size.

Ok, I would caution against using a pure benchmark number, as it only synthetically tests one thing about the processor.

I think this Gamers Nexus video has good coverage of it:

Basically, it's about equal to a 3600X which is currently going for $80. Not really a good deal.

This or the 12600k. The 5600x has good and cheaper motherboard support. 12600k has edge on performance at a little higher mobo cost.
