I am actually typing on my older Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite (2020) tablet. I highly recommend the s6 lite tablets. I have various tablets and the s6 lite is my favorite. It lives up to its high score 4.7 out of 5 score (154 reviews).

Is the S8 tablet for $230 around? I searched S8 tablet deal on slickdeals and there was a 128GB Galaxy Tab S8 deal (87 thumbs up) on sale for $400 with a trade-in of an eligible Galaxy or iPad tablet. That is far more than $230. Considering the additional trade-in requirement, the S8 deal is pretty much almost 3 times more than the S6 Lite. If one doesn't require flagship performance, I don't think one should pay huge bucks for a phone or tablet. If the Samsung Galaxy S8 tablet has a crazy sale, go for it but that isn't the case here.

I've been looking for a tablet and for some strange reason this one ISN'T IPS... any reason why it's worth getting over a similarly priced IPS with good specs, like the lenovo M10 plus gen 3?

Nope. It has a 4.7 out of 5 stars (154 reviews) on Best Buy and it has a 4.5 out of 5 stars (115 reviews) on Amazon. These are from customers who have actually used it. I actually have the 2020 model and there is a lot to like beyond the screen.

FWIW I own the 2020 version and use it as my daily journal/notebook. Basically, it stays at my desk running OneNote and is great for note taking with the included pen. Size is ideal, doesn't take up a ton of space.

I still have the S6 (the regular version). I like it because it's smaller than S7 or S8. My wife has the S7 and it's bit bigger enough that I do not want to upgrade. Hopefully, samsung comes up with smaller premium tablet one of these days

I have the 2020 model with the TFT screen and the screen is a big PRO. Don't assume the screen is bad because it is a TFT screen. I have the Fire HD 10 with the IPS screen and the Samsung tablet TFT screen is much better. I would say my ipad screen is better but it is slightly better and I prefer the Samsung tablet way more. Read the reviews from customers who are very happy with the Samsung screen. I am a fan of Lenovo as I got their laptop, lenovo chromebook duet, plenty of Lenovo/Motorola phones and the Lenovo M8 FHD tablet with the IPS screen. I would definitely take the Samsung tablet over a Lenovo tablet as it is just a more polished experience and it will get longer support. The Netflix and Prime Full HD widevine issue with Lenovo could be an issue too for many. It is worth to pay the extra.

Yeah I had the S7+ too. Gave it to a family member. I love my S6. Ordered the S8+ ultra but it's humongous. Don't feel like carrying a mini TV around. It was beautiful though. So is the S6 lite more or lesser than the S6?

I have an S8 Ultra and feel the same way. I tried to use it on the couch and it just looked ridiculous. Great for media consumption or as a mini laptop with the keyboard deck.

I owned an S6 and loved it too. This I think has a better processor but looses the OLED screen (and it's a slightly smaller display).

I never notice the processor as I use it for multimedia use so the screen being OLED is definitely a plus in that sense. That's why I had pulled the trigger on the S6 rather than the lite. Samsung SMOLED is super nice but I wish they made a smaller tablet as well.

The Samsung current line of tablets from their website are...

Galaxy Tab A8............ $
Galaxy Tab S6 Lite............ $$ <--- worth the little extra over the A8
Galaxy Tab S7 FE/S7/S7+............ $$$
Galaxy Tab S8/S8+S8 Ultra............$$$$

Spec wise the S6 tablet is better with a more powerful processor, amoled screen and quad speakers and it costs more but the S6 tablet is from July 2019 so expect lesser support now compared to the 2022 tablet. One can buy a used 3 year old tablet for less than $230 but used is still used, without warranty and a 3 year old battery will probably need to be replaced soon if it hasn't been already.

Do you realize that I actually have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite 2020 model and the 2022 model is refreshed 2022 model with improved processor and longer support? You think I am lying about owning it or I am not happy with it? Do you want me to write my full review with its pros and cons? I can give you my full review but I also believe in customer reviews from hundreds or thousands of people. Ignoring customer reviews or critic reviews is silly. If I saw a phone or tablet with 3 stars with hundreds of reviews, I would haven't interest in it. Fixated means obsessed? You are confused. I just value other people's reviews on a device. I also watch youtube review videos before purchasing so I guess I am "fixated" and obsessed on watching youtube video reviews according to you.
