I am in the market for a whole new PC. My current build's been going on 7-8 years, but underwent a transplant of RAM, CPU, and MOBO about 3 years ago. Everything else, though...

I feel like I want to start fresh, and it seems like a good time of the year to consider a PC for the next decade.

in what universe is a 5600x with rtx 3070 for $1200 overpriced? You guys can keep waiting for once in a lifetime deals on gpu's but for most people this system is a good deal.

For prebuilts it's not terrible. You're not getting anything special but it's a bit better than an HP or Dell prebuilt would be. You're paying for retail cost of parts, windows and assembly. Not a crazy markup, and we have to expect system integrators to make a profit.

My prediction is for BF the best we'll see is like last year with the HP low-end, all proprietary parts gaming pavilions (victus?) which have lots of cut corners and limited upgradability, going for around $900-$1000.

This is very close to break even. Would not say over priced. And it's probably better than a prebuilt for future upgrades. Just not sure it's worth the extra 350 from the Costco Lenovo i5/3060 deal I got in on. Pretty much just paying for gpu upgrade and future.

depending on what you do. that's too generalized of a statement. i'd rather take a 5600x (6c) over a 3700x (8c) for a gaming pc.

Just as a heads up to any bargain hunters out there, I just ordered a used version of a better build (3060 12gb, 16DDR, 1TB SSD) of this same company for $560 shipped from EBAY.......Bargains are out there folks, you just have to look.

I bought a skytech archangel right before COVID hit big in the u.s. that was here on slickdeals. Has a 2070. Been really good for me. Would it be worth upgrading for me? I added an extra 1gb ssd.

It was actually really similar to the 3.0 someone else linked above. I looked at my order from a few years ago and it was the archangel 3.0. Except it came with a 1tb SSD and not 500gb and came with a GeForce 2070 and 16gb ram.

Only if you notice a lack in performance in games you play. If you're already getting good performance, you're better off putting that money for your next upgrade when it matters
