I stopped using this card after getting Capital One Venture X. Venture X has a $395 annual fee, but after annual $300 travel credit and 10k points you effectively get paid $5 a year to have the card. Venture X also has 2% cash back on all purchases, along with many other worthwhile perks.

With the Venture X, is it 2% cashback or 2% in points? With the Double Cash, you get 2% cash and don't have to worry about conversions between points and cash.
Thanks. I was actually trying to finally find a card that I could get 3% at in-person Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market grocery purchases.
It used to work till last mid of last year. But Walmart I frequent replaced their pay terminals and I'm no longer getting 3% now. Not sure if that was just a coincidence. I now have to do pickup orders to get 5% via Walmart Capone cc

Dang. Were you paying with the Paypal app directly or using WalMart-Pay with Paypal registered as your Walmart payment method?
This might be a stupid question but I'll ask anyways. You still get 2% even if you pay it off immediately?
Yes. You get 1% when you run the charge and another 1% (2% total) when you pay it off. I've been using it as my primary card for many years and pay off the balance monthly. I run as utility, some insurance and all groceries and pay off monthly. (Just make sure there is no credit card surcharge where used.) I'm still surprised at how much accumulates in the rewards account annually.

This is the card I use at Walmart, even on the website since it still funnels through their payment system: https://www.penfed.org/credit-car...wards-visa
It's not exactly 3%, since the point to $$ conversion isn't 1:1, but still more than 2% effective.

Unless they have changed their process - you do not get 1% back if you pay it off immediately. I did that for quite a while until I realized I wasn't getting the extra 1% - I called them and they confirmed. You have to wait to pay it off until they close out the month. That being said as it was a few years ago, maybe they've changed their policy - but I would be surprised if they did as it's one way they take advantage of you.

Unless they've changed their policy over the last few years - no, you do not get the 1% if you pay it off early. I confirmed this with citi at the time. Maybe they've changed their policy however.

Also use it for pay-at-the-pump everywhere.
