If your work offers employee discounts for Samsung, you can get these for $143.99 directly from their website. The PCIe 4.0 version (980 Pro) goes for $161.99.

Plus you can bypass the abysmal Newegg shipping and pick it up at your nearby Best Buy.
I think this is the lowest I have seen it by $10. Could be wrong tho
Thinking of this as a gift, but..... it's newegg.... I learned my lesson...

Don't want to deal with the hassles so Amazon at $10 more is a safer bet....

Paid this exact price back in May 2022 from Newegg. Haven't seen it this low since then.

How does this compare to the intel 670p? I've got two on back order still from Newegg and I'm not sure how much longer I want to wait.

I'm thinking I should wait until Thanksgiving and Black Friday, though.

This Samsung is a better drive. The biggest difference is the 670p is QLC and the 970 EVO Plus is TLC. While the benchmarks for the 970 may be better...in most use cases, you won't notice a difference in performance between the two. The main advantage IMO is that TLC NAND will have higher endurance/TBW rating.

Thanks. I'm thinking I'm going to change that these go lower for Black Friday. The Intel ones are $130, so if these get lower (or maybe even the same price) for Black Friday, and Intel are still on back order, I'm going to grab some.

What's with the Newegg hate? Did they do something again recently?

At the end of last year I bought a truckload of PC parts from Newegg. Shipping was fast and returns were 100% free, not even return shipping was charged. If your impression of Newegg is more than 3 years old maybe give them another shot, they're actually a different company now after being bought out.
