This is just a controller. Maybe the games you were playing weren't fun? Or maybe your family just doesn't like driving sims? I use this thing for the forza series, american truck simulator, the dirt series, the assetto series, etc... I find it to be very fun.
So what do we say people? I haven't seen this drop below that price in about 2 years. Should I pull the trigger or wait till black fri? Help me!!! Lol
It's definitely a starter wheel and at the bottom of force feedback wheels currently. Great thing about it that it's a workhorse and very much indestructible.

I had it for years until I tried some better wheels at which point I've moved on. That's not to say that you can't sim race with it, plenty people do but it's probably best suited to play arcade games like Forza, Gran Turismo, etc.

It's also a great way to get into the hobby and slowly upgrade over time starting with pedals.

I got mine for $170 + tax. Logitech's website has the same price and has an email popup for VIP deals for Black Friday. I entered my email and had a coupon sent to my email shortly after signing up for $30 off of $150+. Coupon says "must be at least 2 items" but works for this wheel. Someone else in the comments said they got this coupon as well which gave me the idea to try.
I think the ones on their website are refurbished.?

Got the refurbished one? Don't see it new.

Update: Found it but OOO: https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/p...wheel.html

Got one for my son for ACC and iR from Amazon with 10% Amex coupon, ordered the shifter from BB.

It's been quite some time since I actually gamed. Hopefully I don't come off pretentious like I'm too mature or super cool, it's not that at all. I simply had to cut out some hobbies with a growing family and games were the ones I decided on.

I miss it. Im out of the loop and ask NooB questions. Back in the day I loved arcade games with a realistic feel, clutch and gear box.

My Noob question (yea I googled but got lost in a rabbit hole that didn't answer my question) is: can I locate a list of games this will work on?

Clearly the racing games I've seen mentioned are a great starting point and im interested for sure…. But am I silly to hope I can use this for the driving aspect of GTAV? Or is it more geared for driving games where you drive the entire game and it's not a feature of the open roam game?

Sorry. Seriously. Some people said no you can't use it for GTAV and I found others who accomplished it or claimed they did (I couldn't watch the YouTube videos and they started to shout like a deaf Burger King worker running the drive thru.)

Thanks. Again. Im a Noob. Take it easy please. Smilie

I think you're mistaking this for the Thrustmaster T150 - which is indeed plastic and rubber.

The Logitech G920/G29 has a leather-wrapped metal wheel, metal paddle shifters, and the pedals are metal. There's no rubber anywhere.

If you want to get away from plastic, you're going to have to spend a whole lot more, like $700+
No it was in fact the G920. It was so cheap, and the shifter was plastic garbage as well.

The base of the G920 had plastic housing, but the wheel is metal and wrapped in leather. The paddle shifters are also metal, as are the pedals.

The optional add on shifter is mostly plastic with a metal lever, but it works well and has a nice short-throw feel to it (for the $50-60 price). I honestly like it better than the Thrustmaster shifter for $150 (which feels too long).

I'm not sure what you're expecting at the $200 price range. The Logitech G29/G920 wheels are great entry-level wheels that you could happily use for years. I have a 5 year old G29 that still works great.

If you want all metal, get a Fanatec CSL setup. They're great, but you're looking at $680+ for an equivalent 3-pedal setup. Want to add the (really good) Fanatec shifter? That's another $300.

It's a controller. It is geared for driving games - Assetto Corsa, F1 2022, European Truck Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Drift Rally, to name a few - but you can try to use it in GTAV and it should work. It may not work very well, since the game was designed for a standard controller, and you likely won't get force feedback, but it should work to some degree.

That's weird. I find playing forza horizon 4/5 with my xbox one controller kinda annoying. I was thinking about trying one of these out to see if I find it more enjoyable. The controller just offers such a small amount of analog range! Holding the throttle at like 10% is agonizing lol.
imo, this wheel is not good for the Horizon games. I own it and tried fh3, 4 and 5 and it never works right. Even after making all kinds of setting adjustments. Just Google it and see what im talking about. Works pretty good on the motorsport games but not the Horizon series...

Thanks for the heads up on that! Luckily, horizon isn't the only driving game I like playing. I do have Assetto Corsa and some other driving games, and naturally I'd be interested in buying more!

I ended up ordering a g29. Since amazon does free returns I am not really that worried about it. Here's to hoping it's fun to play with! Big Grin

wait isn't the g29 for PlayStation? Anyways, I'm a big racing game fan and have about 20 different kinds including what u mentioned. I'd say the Logitech wheel works OK on half, the other half not so much, id rather just use controller tbh. Out of the other half I'd say 5 work very well. Id assume its probably similar on PS... Not sure if its quality of wheel or software support. I'd say its somewhere in between.

The g29 works on PCs as well. You just get a couple extra buttons and some rev counter lights. Aside from that, it's the same wheel & pedals. Aesthetically I think the g920 looks just a teeny bit better. Honestly if it bugs me THAT much I'll send it back and order a g920 instead hahahah.

Yeah dude, just giving my feedback and experience with the wheel. I got it for 199 four years ago with the shifter and pedals. Its well built and sturdy. I dont have any PC experience. My feedback is mostly on the Xbox console. Edit, just checked my racing games list and it is at 27 games. My point still stands.

lol if it makes you feel any better, I usually play games with the keyboard/mouse instead of the xbox controller.

not about me feeling better. It's about, I'd say about 25% of the games feel OK on this device.
