I had it for years until I tried some better wheels at which point I've moved on. That's not to say that you can't sim race with it, plenty people do but it's probably best suited to play arcade games like Forza, Gran Turismo, etc.
It's also a great way to get into the hobby and slowly upgrade over time starting with pedals.

Update: Found it but OOO: https://www.logitechg.c
Got one for my son for ACC and iR from Amazon with 10% Amex coupon, ordered the shifter from BB.
I miss it. Im out of the loop and ask NooB questions. Back in the day I loved arcade games with a realistic feel, clutch and gear box.
My Noob question (yea I googled but got lost in a rabbit hole that didn't answer my question) is: can I locate a list of games this will work on?
Clearly the racing games I've seen mentioned are a great starting point and im interested for sure…. But am I silly to hope I can use this for the driving aspect of GTAV? Or is it more geared for driving games where you drive the entire game and it's not a feature of the open roam game?
Sorry. Seriously. Some people said no you can't use it for GTAV and I found others who accomplished it or claimed they did (I couldn't watch the YouTube videos and they started to shout like a deaf Burger King worker running the drive thru.)
Thanks. Again. Im a Noob. Take it easy please.
The Logitech G920/G29 has a leather-wrapped metal wheel, metal paddle shifters, and the pedals are metal. There's no rubber anywhere.
If you want to get away from plastic, you're going to have to spend a whole lot more, like $700+
The base of the G920 had plastic housing, but the wheel is metal and wrapped in leather. The paddle shifters are also metal, as are the pedals.
The optional add on shifter is mostly plastic with a metal lever, but it works well and has a nice short-throw feel to it (for the $50-60 price). I honestly like it better than the Thrustmaster shifter for $150 (which feels too long).
I'm not sure what you're expecting at the $200 price range. The Logitech G29/G920 wheels are great entry-level wheels that you could happily use for years. I have a 5 year old G29 that still works great.
If you want all metal, get a Fanatec CSL setup. They're great, but you're looking at $680+ for an equivalent 3-pedal setup. Want to add the (really good) Fanatec shifter? That's another $300.

It's a controller. It is geared for driving games - Assetto Corsa, F1 2022, European Truck Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Drift Rally, to name a few - but you can try to use it in GTAV and it should work. It may not work very well, since the game was designed for a standard controller, and you likely won't get force feedback, but it should work to some degree.

Thanks for the heads up on that! Luckily, horizon isn't the only driving game I like playing. I do have Assetto Corsa and some other driving games, and naturally I'd be interested in buying more!
I ended up ordering a g29. Since amazon does free returns I am not really that worried about it. Here's to hoping it's fun to play with!
