No made in Mexico. I bought one earlier this year. It needed a good setup As the neck was crooked but not difficult to fix. Slight buzz but can't figure out where it's coming from. Otherwise great guitar for $500.

I bought this as a open box/floor demo a while back. Very nice for the price but needed setup including fret leveling...

I was looking for a buzz forever. Changed the bridge. Changed the nut. It was a tuning peg.

The Mexican made Fenders have more modern pickups, "correct" wood and a satin neck. Overall build quality is on par and lately people have been having bad luck with Fender QC. If you are not bothered by the Squier logo and prefer the look, keep the one you got.

I also went Squier tele over Fender because i wanted the more vintage aesthetics. Don't feel like I missed anything. My wife will not tolerate a gloss neck so Squier are out of the question for her.
