10% off on Target gc means only 5% additional % off for redcard holders.

If you have 5% additional statement credit thru Chase Freedom - PayPal route, you get effective 4.5% extra on top of this discounted gc deal making it 14.5% off, or 9.5% on top of red card discount.

Depending on how much you shop at Target annually and your personal cash flow priorities vs need to save the extra % off, you can decide whether to block money in the gc.

If you decide to get in on this deal but also have the red card, you can prioritize to use red card for smaller transactions where red card can get you free shipping. You can select to use the discounted gc for when you're doing store pick up, or 35$+ shipping orders wherein you'd not have shipping charges to deal with anyway.

Hope it helps.

Just a PSA: if you buy the gift card and load it into your target account wallet, make sure you have 2FA for your account login. I received a $300 GC as a gift and realized as soon as I loaded it in a day someone across the country used my login to buy items instore. Target didn't help when I filed a complaint basically telling me to file a police report before they could do anything. Gift cards are harder to chase down of course compared to credit card. It can happen at any store but target's payment and security sucked up until few months ago when they added 2FA.

Edit: to enable 2FA, go to target.com and into your account settings. You can find information on how to enable it here - If you go to target.com and in the account settings, you'll find an option to set email/phone 2FA. More instructions are here https://security.target.com/FAQs#...20account?

Target recently changed their system to allow you to use a partial amount of a gift card on a purchase, so there's no need to buy multiple small quantities for yourself. I pay for most of the transaction with a gift card and then just a few cents with my Red Card to still get free shipping.

This is maybe just a problem at the Target near me, but I've been having an increasing problem with the prices listed on the shelves for some items being much lower than what they ring up at the register. And sometimes they're wrong for literally weeks, even after I tell customer service about it. It has started happening so often that I don't bother even telling them anymore.

Once I went to customer service and the person there kind of dismissively said, "Well, inflation has been bad lately."

Probably just a problem at this Target near me, but it can be frustrating, especially when the increase in price at the register is big enough to negate a 10% discount like the one in the OP.
In some states law requires merchants to honor the marked price, even provide a free item in the event of a mismatch. Higher prices at the register is a legal no-no.

Hm, good to know, thanks.

To give a specific example, these yogurt pouches have been listed $3.39 on the shelf but have been ringing up $3.69 I'd say for over a month now. Even after I told customer service a few weeks ago.

Can I make several SEPERATE transactions of GCs and use the circle offer until all $500 is purchased or will the 10% offer be lost after first GC purchase even if under $500?

Also does target GC purchase count towards meeting personalized circle offers? (I have purchase 4x $60+ to get $20 bonus)

Reading through thread its seems the 10% is only one-time purchase and these don't count towards circle offer anyways but I wanted to confirm

Your last statement is correct. The 10% is only good for a one time purchase per account and target gift card purchases do not count towards the Target Circle Make x purchases of x dollars and get a x reward.

No grudge against Target. I shop there all the time. This year, I ended up buying $1K using Discover card $500 twice), ending up with 15% savings. If I did not have the additional 5% savings on top of the 10% off of the gift card, savings would have been meager (as I have laid out in my previous post).

Okay, but I'm new to Google Pay/Wallet, and it appears that you can use them only by holding your phone up to the checkout machine. There is no barcode or any other way to pay via the checkout scanner. From what I remember the Target registers don't have the ability to just hold your phone up to them to pay, but I may be wrong. If I'm right though, how do you pay in-store via Google Pay/Wallet?

How did you do it? I don't see it as an option when I go to checkout.

Make it slicker by using any of these options 1 - PayPal and Chase Freedom and if you have sapphire that becomes 7.5 %. 2) Use Discover with virtual wallet for 5 % or 3) Use BofA if you have 3 % for online and as platinum it becomes 5.25%. Happy Holidays

Note Chase Freedom is only 5% for first $1500. With black Friday I exhausted that. my last two buys only gave me 1% cash back
Quote from AriP1020 :
Can you please share how to do this with the sapphire
My guess this is only Chase Sapphire Reserved and not Preferred. Got my hopes up with my Preferred but it's not there for me.
