Most people looking at this aren't coaches....it's $89. I'm speaking relative to the price and what average people will use.

and obviously you havent seen people lift a weight 2 times and take a 30 minute break it's ridiculous. especially when I want to use the equipment too
I purchased a pair of these last Christmas and I cannot recommend them. The weights will sometimes fall off the handle while I'm using them, putting my toes, my cats, and my toddler at risk of getting hit by a flying 5lb metal disk. And it's a pain in the ass to get the disks back on after they fall off. It's a defective product, but I did not realize soon enough to return them.
As a fat man who used to be in shape, you have no idea how ignorant everyone in this thread sounds.

I will buy this for my collection of gym equipment I may one day put to use; but probably wont

25 lb is not much tho, would grow out of it in under a year of lifting if you're starting out.
While you're not wrong, I'm strongly considering these to supplement my Ironmaster dumbbells which go up to 90 lbs. For drop sets with smaller muscle groups, these would be ideal. They adjust faster than Ironmaster which, again, is ideal for drop sets.

I've owned these for a little over a year now. They have been really good to me. The only complaint I have is that the weight selection indicators on the inside of the dumbells (5, 10, etc..) started to disappear and now it's a guessing game when trying to set the weights.

Not me. I just do more reps. Can't stand the "juice heads" at the gym that do one rep and walk around for half an hour

I can see maybe, mayyyybe using 25lbs for biceps or perhaps some shoulder exercises and doing more reps. But if you think using 25lbs for chest or back and doing more reps will provide any muscle growth you are clueless.

Lol I'm using these as dumbbells not a bench press.

Not sure what to tell you I'm weak Smilie

I've got 55 lb adjustables and I'm considering these too for the same reason. There are a lot of things you can do with lighter weights, not everything is about the big muscle groups (I need light weights for rotator cuff strengthening for example).

I'm wondering if anybody has used these for pushups / parallettes? I'm kind of hesitant to use my big dumbbells for that since I don't want to damage them, but I've been reluctant to buy a dedicated piece of equipment for that. If anybody has tried these as supports for body weight movements I'd love to hear how it worked out for you.

That is my biggest fear with these types of adjustable weights...safety hazards of the weights falling off and smashing into my foot or face. Thanks for confirming

Who needs risk - I liked the price but even one account here on SD of falling out weights is enough to scare me off. Repped and canceled order.

I got this set last year just because got marked down drastically from BF in a matter of weeks ($150 to $90). Anyhow, mine are still working fine and no plates have fallen out.

Regarding usage of these for pushups, I wouldn't recommend it. The holders are plastic so basically you're putting the entire force of your body on plastic parts instead of the 5lb plates they were designed for. I also have a set of Bowflex Selecttech 55lbs, FWIW. I got metal discs for my Bowflex so now they should last me a lifetime -- google search 'Average Joe Innovations' if interested.

I bought these about a year ago. I use them 3-5 times a week and have had no problems with them. The discs have never fallen out. I would buy them againSmilie

yeah I dunno, I'd probably buy one but there's too many reviews that mention the plates falling off. that doesn't sound fun.
