Someone here on Slickdeals commented the same thing before and I thought it was just that person or they were exaggerating. Nope. According to the multiple Amazon reps I spoke with this is standard practice for Apple products.

Testing the iPad demo is not enough for me alone to make a complete informed decision even with multiple trips to Apple, Costco and such. Everyone is different. YouTube video doesn't fill in that void in practical sense.
In the end of the day, I made the right decision to buy the right iPad at my own pace at home for my wants and needs for the right $.
If I were to return that iPad 12.9" variant for the SECOND TIME then I would had other personal issue, admittedly but that even didn't happen.
Now looking back at my experience, I should had started from the iPad 9th gen without looking at the price and compare the other iPad models way up to 12.9" variant then wait for right price to score rather than what I had initially done aka top to bottom. Doesn't help when I started hunting not long ago.
Slickdeals can make you think twice on whether it a good deal or not esp for a newbie like me figuring out the right iPad for me. Research, research, and research.
It all part of the learning experience as no one here will ever get it right the first time all the time.
With an M1 chip I'm baffled why it's can't do ProMotion. Unless it's just being held back which is evil
IMO if you're like me and close the 3-4 apps that are open, you're very unlikely to be impacted. Also, I don't see why Apple can't extend this feature to 64GB models, even an extra 2, 4, 6 gigs, or even 8 gigs won't make a noticeable impact to storage size.
I think it's just Apple's method of segmenting again, using hardware differentiation that they put in, to supposedly affect software, in attempt to sell the more expensive model.
