Your mom bought one of these landfill trash piles. Said it was the best deal ever. Couldn't stop raving about it. Especially because it was part of the HP line.

I am a weekend DIY and doesn't make tons and tons of cuts. Not having to drag out a roll of heavy cords, while having a number of batteries already makes it worth while. I use Ryobi since they were still dark blue and they still work. The new neon green aren't the best of quality but none of them broke for light duty work.....if the cheapest built quality last enough for one like me, why not buy it?

Totally agree- takes a lot of space - much more than expected - returned mine. Purchased non sliding version that is very compact ( factory blemished means new with 3 y warranty from Direct Tools for 65 ). .95 % of the time cutting capacity is sufficient and is very compact and not so heavy. I use corded version if needed very rarely. Go to the store and compare both before you buy as sliding is not so easy to transfer
Did you order the one from DirectTools to ship or do you have a store near you? I'm afraid of their shipping methods and handling something big like this.

Mailed one - shipping was just 8.99 - now is 15 - Well packaged - no damage. Frequently they have also refurbished - lowest was 49 but only 1 y warranty . Blemished was brand new. Non sliding is pretty compact so do not worry

can you cancel once placed the order or just pick and return at store
The dates have diverged now so you can cancel the stand separately and not have it ship

Please don't buy this landfill trash pile...who buys a battery powered miter saw?? It is not worth any amount of discount. Lithium batteries are expensive and Ryobi outside of the HP line, are some of the cheapest built.
I can't say for this one specifically, but my Rigid 18v 7.25 sliding compound miter saw has been great.
There's obviously significant power increases spinning a 10in blade vs a 7.25...

I have used and abused their battery powered tools for years, and they hold up.

That is actually why I'm considering it.. I'm about to rebuild about 400-500ft of fence and it's going to be a lot of cutting. I don't want to drag extension cords or a generator out so considering a battery-powered unit. Just stocked up on a bunch of Ryobi deals that reviewers said came at least close to dewalt and Milwaukee. I know everyone says to buy those brands but they are so expensive for the heavy-hitter stuff that ryobi comes within striking distance of.
The only reason to spend more is for the precision and repeatability of cuts. For rough work like fences it doesn't really matter. Of your doing molding even a .5 degree different or a funky bevel is noticable. Unless you don't care and just caulk and paint...

For me it rang up with the saw at $145 and the table at $105. I may try returning the table unopened and see if that works...

Bought this deal a little more than a month ago. Went through 3 of the stands trying to get a useable one. In the end, I tried to return it and they wouldn't do it at the store by me. Ended up just tossing it in the garage and bought the Rigid MSUV stand since it was on sale. Love the saw. Love the Rigid stand. Hate the quickstand, though hate might not be a strong enough word. If I had been able to return the stand and keep the saw for the discounted price, this would have been unbeatable! So far the saw has cut everything I have thrown at it. The Rigid stand is perfect for the concept of a battery powered saw. The quickstand just doesn't seem sturdy enough for a sliding saw of this size. Seemed very tipsy. But every stand I got had several issues, which could lead to that opinion.
Wait what was their excuse for not letting you return the stand? Most of us returned the stand for the hack to get the saw cheaper. I literally came to pick up both and told the girl that I will be returning the stand right away to try and save her the trouble of fetching it and then returning it, but she had to grab it anyways.

Outperforms how? More torque? Maybe for a very limited amount of time. You're still saddled by expensive lithium batteries. If you got money to blow, well, that's entirely up to you. Interesting info though.
I haven't found power to be an issue among any corded miter saws. I had a Ryobi 10in and a stand but I gave it away because I have too many saws. I rarely use the 12in dual bevel compound miter saw because a sliding 10 and a sliding 7.25 covers pretty much everything.
However the best precision comes from a fixed non sliding version. For most people it probably isn't that big of a deal, but keeping your miter saw in tune is kinda important.

However if the mfg is sloppy, no amount of tuning will help.
The old blue Ryobi corded were decent if not abused. Dunno about this one...

No amount of homeowner use abuse adds up to day laborers abuse. Lol... But yes most hold up ok. Mostly see the 1.5 and 2ah batts having issues with one cell failing.

The lady that was there all 3 times told me that if she returns it, the saw will be charged the difference to make it full price. I asked to talk the manager in hopes he or she would make an exception. She said she was the manager, so I gave up there. Probably should have argued, but I didn't want to give them any more problems than they have to deal with on a daily basis. Was thinking about trying again this weekend. I bought with an HD credit card, so I have a 365 day return window.
