Poor grandparents these days: "Did little Billy say he wanted the Stream deck, or the Steam Deck? Oh well. I'll just get him the Nintendo PlayStation X and some socks."

Lowest price per camel. However be aware that they have an app that can make a spare tablet or phone do the same stuff. But if you're live streaming, having tactile buttons will help you multitask and not worry if you pressed the key or not.

Lowest price per camel. However be aware that they have an app that can make a spare tablet or phone do the same stuff. But if you're live streaming, having tactile buttons will help you multitask and not worry if you pressed the key or not.
Edit to add this isn't the mk2

Yeah, I am running Touch Portal on an old Kindle Fire and it has been working great. Matric app is another decent alternative.

Having tried both, the phone / tablet based solutions are a waste of time if you intend to use it regularly.

You need to manually turn the tablet on / off whenever you restart the computer or resume from sleep vs. the dedicated stream deck just turning on automatically.

I'm now up to 2 of these with another on the way.

2 is nice because you can dedicate 1 to global stuff you always want accessible and have another devoted to whatever program is currently running.

As a somewhat casual small streamer is this crucial or needed? Not sure if I want to spend more money before knowing I have something that can grow or not :/

You can have page flips to get more functions if you need. At least a portion should be dedicated to critical always visible functions though. You'll find plenty of uses once you have it.

i am also that person. and i freakin love it.
i have a main page that goes to several sub pages and then every subpage has a "go home"button to go back.

Sound board definitely gets the most use. even if im not streaming its fun when in group chat.
but i also use it to change audio sources, control the lights in my office, i made a 10key page because my keyboard is 10keyless. hell you can even use it for video editing, photoshopping and now Destiny 2 has loadout compatibility.

its a splurge, but i honestly use it so much. the sky is the limit.

These things are great. Bitfocus Companion can do a lot more with them, geared largely towards AVL production environments, but can be used for other things as well.

There are lots of uses for these outside of streaming, especially if you do any sort of online meetings (I originally got mine looking for a better way to mute / unmute mic during meetings)..

To get an idea of the sorts of things you can do, here are some sample profiles for various MS Office apps:

These are nice, I configured mine with folders for various applications and functions. I like the stock / crypto tickers, it's nice to see what my stocks are doing at a glance.
