I understand all the people that want their TV, OLED, 120HZ, Dolby vision and audio, but honestly i didn't care so much about this stuff compared to my priorities which was the size, name brand, the cost, if you like me, trust me you will like it. Thank you
No Dolby Vision in these No Frills sets. i was helping a friend with one of these and notice it would not go into dolby vision when connected to apple TV... still has HDR10 and HLG so that's something
Right, it's like saying your Honda CRV got 4 wheels just like my Benz...

They both have IPS displays and similar image qualities; the Toshiba having Dolby Vision HDR licensing doesn't imply much because the overall brightness capability is rather low according to rtings' review. It does have 4 HDMI inputs versus the 2 of the LG UP7300.
Common among this tier of tv's that use IPS is an inherent low level of peak brightness and contrast capability (along with prevalent risk of light bleed showing through dark scenes and excessive blooming effects around subtitles if you use them) so HDR content won't stand out as intended. Although IPS provides greater viewing angles for wider seating arrangements as a tradeoff.
If you had to settle for an IPS display equipped 75" tv based on necessity or budget the image quality will only vary slightly among the available choices. But on average they will be less expensive from reputable brands compared to VA models. It comes down to your preferences for types of viewing content, connectivity/inputs, OS, remote design.
The alternative to OP's 75" LG is the 70" LG UQ75 Series for $599 from best buy which is a VA panel, yielding deeper contrast and black levels if those features are more important.
Another $250 got me the 4k@120hz one at costco a few months back. It's hard to go back to 60hz using it as a pc screen, but these tvs all support it and if you run it at 1080p@120hz on this tv that is a lot of computer monitor wall for $600. You could legit cover a wall in screens for $2400. That would be so crazy.
Imagine running a video wall for less then 3k including source. I wonder if you can remove the case to make the bezels smaller.

My wife has to have close caption on when we watch a show together but i turn that off for my shows.
I just bought this a couple of weeks back, and it is night and day superior to my previous Insignia 65" Fire TV. First off, the LG OS is extremely sleek/smooth to deal with by comparison (my previous Fire TV had issues with apps like Plex, which would often have weird issues, or not load images of the movies). Also, I replaced the remote with MR21GA magic remote, which has a much better layout, voice control, and the ability to use the remote as an "air mouse", aiming and clicking at the screen (my wife loves this feature). I also already had a Samsung HW-S61B soundbar (black Friday), and connected it via HDMI, and the DTS Virtual-X mode is incredible and very intense. The other main reason to buy this is the gaming mode with a PC connected to it. I am serious when I say, it has virtually the same latency as a PC monitor (only with gaming mode set to on), whereas my previous Insignia 65" gaming mode was TERRIBLE for latency (could feel the lag). I'm very sensitive to mouse lag, and there is zero noticeable latency now with my computer for office work on this TV. The picture quality for movies is also superb, especially in Vivid mode + manual tweaking all settings to your liking. $599 for this TV + free delivery is an absolute steal.
Got the tv and enjoying the size, where did you get the remote and how much?

Thank you! I needed a review from someone like me!
Agreed. Out of the two low end sets, the Samsung at least has passable blacks. This LG has bright grey "blacks"
The LG is an IPS display and for most people is the better all around monitor that they'll find a use for, for the next decade. Unless you can factually know that for the next 7 to 10 years, this Samsung will be used almost exclusively for viewing movies in nearly complete darkness..... Personally, I wouldn't commit to any monitor for any one use for the next 3 years. I can't even imagine what I'll be using as my primary movie viewing option in 5 years but know for a fact it won't be a low end 2022 Samsung.... but do know for a fact I'll always have a use for a computer monitor that the LG will do far better at than this Samsung.
Thank you very much. Could you please advise why you recommend the TCL over this?
They're recommending it because they live in a dungeon with no access to lighting and only leave the house once a week for mere hours..... and only at night I might add.
he lives in daddies basement and this is his priority??? I'd of kicked him out the second I saw what he's doing with "his" money....... That's the problem with parents these days..... complete trash
