I have the flip and have had no problem with putting it in the pockets of my shorts, jeans, dress pants, and work pants. What were you wearing, swim trunks?
Levi 501.

When folded, it's snug in the pocket because of the extra thickness. I guess 501s have big but slim pockets because I just test fitted a S22 Ultra in my pants and it fits just perfect.

Seriously! I am dumbfounded by people whining about the zflip size. It's soo much easier for me to pocket personally. Then again, I used to Crack screens in my back pocket (twice) because they got so long. I love that I'll never Crack my phone in my pocket from bending. Plus you have more pocket options as it fits in chest pockets.

Did your international version have 2 physical SIM slots? Seems only the US versions have 1 physical and esim. I actually want a 2 physical SIM one
if the international version has a snapdragon version that has unlocked bootloader then i would get it at full price. Hopefully the rumors are correct and all of the samsung s23u are with snapdragons and not exynos. Oh and i dont mean the snapdragons that are Chinese variants dont want those. Hopefully the international variant also has the bands i need...? I really miss having root.

Sorry if this is a noob comment - I've never purchased a new phone right at release but I'm holding on to a S9+ with declining battery life (otherwise works fine) and feel like maybe it's time to upgrade. Everyone talks about trade-ins at release but clearly my phone won't get me much. Based on other comments, I think I get that this is just an additional credit on top of any pre-release/release bonus offers. What are the pre-release/release offers usually like in the past (as I clearly haven't looked before - when I bought the S9+ it was mid-end of the year because my Note 3 kicked the bucket on a cross-country move).

I guess long story short - is it worth buying at pre-release/release if trade-in is not a factor vs waiting a few months? The other random factor is baby #2 arrives in March and I was thinking I'd probably want a better camera ) Also, I'm sure the jump from a S9+ to S23U will be a significant improvement regardless (except for losing external storage/headphone jack)! Sorry for the long post - thanks in advance!
Currently, Samsung is offering $55 for the Galaxy S9+. With enhanced trade-in, they may give you $100 - $250. At the end of the day, the enhanced trade-in is likely going to be the most your S9+ is ever worth. Personally, I am not sure you will get a better net price on the S23U in the next six (6) months than pre-order with enhanced trade-in. However, you never know, if they don't sell well they may throw more incentives on them later.

So trading-in is only a good deal if you do it every year, and only get the least expensive 128gb models correct? I mean, regardless of OneDrive cloud storage and people only needing 128gb nowadays, I still want to have a high physical storage phone for whatever situation. Would getting the S23 Ultra 1tb variant... have the same trade-in value towards the S24 Ultra 128gb variant? Or would I get more because it's the 1tb model? If it's the latter, I would be losing even more money if I want to get into that annual trade-in process.

still sitting on my s10+ and continue to hold off on new phones especially after loss of a few key features. phone is getting a little long in the tooth, but still runs like a champ (some days, it's a bit finicky). I don;t trade in - I hand down to my old man. lol

so at this point I've been looking at s21 FE. s22+ and now I guess will look at teh 23 when there are more details. not sure which route I'll take

I always find if you wait a few months, the deals get too good to ignore.I dropped my S21 and upgraded to an S22 ultra with a trade in deal I still paid less than 200 for total.
I traded a S21 for S22 Ultra in October. I paid $18 total, which was tax on $300.

If you enroll for both can you still purchase just the phone and receive the credit?

Down to $50 credit now. Hopefully that means they are lowering prices. It used to be $200 credit.
Nah. they always gave this $50 off for registration. the $200 is given when you preorder the phone so you can use $250 for accessories or later usage.

Yes of course. iPhone sells in tens of millions. Apple doesn't need these gimmicks to sell phones

The battery life was shaky on the S22 Ultra. This has been pointed out multiple times on different subreddits. In my experience as well, I directly compared my S21U and S22U, and the S22U was dropping battery faster. Both phones were factory reset before the test.

Speaker quality was another issue with the S22U, I noticed it sounded noticeably worse than the S21U. In the end, I decided to return the S22U and keep the S21U even though the "upgrade" was basically free after trade-in and cashback. But I am looking forward to the S23U, although rumors suggest we might not see the same level of deals as we have seen in the past releases.

I agree. For people that struggle with tech, older people, and kids, iPhone is a better option.
