Just make sure you tweak picture settings (at a min, take it off eco mode), and my guess is you will be pleasantly happy. That advice holds for whatever TV people buy - they usually come on a power saving mode that impact brightness.

The options now are go cheap and go with it.
Mini led
Oled.
If you have a fald with no mini led your tv is trash even if you buy it tomorrow. Blooming ugly terrible picture. Fald needs zones. Id sell my 65 x900h for 600 and my 75 for 800
. the google tv has deeper black and more saturated color profile while roku has really pale color. almost return this stupid roku until i found hidden app to turn color to get it better
Can you share your hidden app and how you get it?
noticed it's 699 for all at amazon as well right now. back in stock at least an hour ago.

S555 recommend settings. You have to download the Roku app on your phone to get to Expert Picture Settings.

1st gen cubes were super slow. I gave one away. Don't think you'd gain much over the built in Roku.
Digital Trends equates this to a 3-4 year old 6-series.
Then yeah. Run that 2nd gen cube, if you like Fire TV over Roku. Should work well.
