Last deal I jumped on for these. I exchanged them a few times and still had a bad experience, along with many others in the comments. Ended up returning completely. The buzzing was ridiculous.

I used this Klipsch set along with an Echo Dot in the Garage for about a year before replacing it with a receiver, bookshelf speakers and sub. The Pro media set sounds pretty good for what it is but can't compare to the hundred dollar system I put together.
What components did you use for the $100 component system? Peace

Onkyo TX-SR804 receiver ($25.00), Paradigm Titan bookshelf speakers ($20.00), Velodyne CT-100 Subwoofer ($30.00) and a 2nd gen Echo Dot ($10.00). Oops, I had the amount wrong, it was only $85.00 not $100.00 and sounds amazingSmilie

Had the non-BT version for a few months on one of the previous costco deals. They're okay for sub $60 of if desk space is at a large premium. Space and the heat my previous setup gave off is why I tried them originally. I returned them and went back to the DAC + powered studio monitor setup. Even if it's a little more expensive, I'd recommend something like that or a 2.1 amp and some bookshelf speakers IMO.

Everyone please read this and spread the word!!

I have 2 of these promedia 2.1 BT sets. The first one I purchased probably back in 2018ish. It was a refurb unit from Best Buy. The second one was purchased from Walmart in July 2022 for $49.99. These two units are indeed DIFFERENT.

The older set has a significantly heavier sub, and that annoying feature of the BT always being the priority with no security or a way to disconnect devices from the speakers. You know, the one everyone complains about, and it is very annoying. The sound from this unit is phenomenal however. Ive never owned the original THX version, but my hunch is that the hardware is the same, but with BT sloppily implemented.

Now with the second set, I first noticed how much lighter the sub is. After setting it up, I can confirm that the audio quality is noticeably worse. It's missing the crispy highs and warm booming bass of my firsts set. It's not terrible, but definitely misses the mark you would expect a Klipsch set to hit. My unit also does have a small hum you can hear in a quiet room. Extremely annoying. BUT, **this unit does have the ability to manually disconnect BT devices and switch over to Line In by clicking in the main volume nob.**

I was able to swap the control modules to create one unit with the best features from both sets! Lucky me!

Razer bought out THX. THX means nothing anymore anyway.
When I mentioned these arent the THX version, I just mean that as a way to tell the difference between the cheaped out lower quality version vs the orignal.

The sound quality is top notch!

But, there's no way to disable the BT radio and no way to protect it. When I was using it in an apartment, someone accidentally connected to it. I end up returning the unit for this reason.
Just connect a cellphone, tablet or laptop so every time you turn on the speakers they automatically connect to that device. Also I am using a Kasa smart plug to turn on and of the speakers and using the 3.5 jack on the tv. Great speaker for that price.

This is the non THX version which is typically on sale for this price or less... it is NOT as good..

The people saying BUY BUY BUY might be ones with the THX version not knowing there is a difference

I'm still rocking the Z-2300 Logitech. Wonder if these would be a bump up or down.

I expected them to sound awesome, but just ok, good for the price though.
