Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Not true ! I got the following when i took the SIM out and inserted another provider sim

Don't lose your rebate
You made a purchase with the $600 off Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra instant rebate, but it looks like one of the promotion conditions isn't being met. Please make sure you meet all the conditions to qualify for the rebate.Promo details
Please note that if you don't meet the promo conditions, you'll receive a charge for the rebate amount. You can always track the status of your promotion in the Fi app.
I don't know about your case. Are you using your Fi SIM in another phone?

I activated my Fi S23 on Feb 23, removed the Fi SIM on Feb 25, reset the phone, put my Tracfone SIM into it and the counter is still counting down everyday. Other people removed the Fi SIM from their S23 and use another provider's SIM in their S23 without problems.

Sorry if this is a really basic question but I purchased a Hello mobile plan to port in. I had them remove the lock so I could port in and also got the pin. I just got my SIM card for Hello Mobile. Do I have to activate it (assuming it isn't already) by putting in my current phone (not the S23 - that's still being delivered) and go through that process, before I port in? Or am I okay just going through the process what's my S23 gets here of activating on Google Fi?
It's been answered many times in this thread. Activate it in another phone. So the line goes active. Then take it out and never use it again. Then you can port it over once your S23 comes in.

I doubt the person your responding to has been waiting around for 2 days for your answer.

You would hope not. But I saw no one answered them.

Does your checklist have a checkmark for activation? Is the counter counting down?
USMobile told me that esim is not supported and blocked by Fi? Did you delete the FI app and esim started working or did you have to wipe the phone?

Activated US mobile esim yesterday. Google fi sim is still there in phone with data turned off. It's still counting down 114 days to go..
USMobile said esim is not supported and blocked by Fi? How did you do it? Did you uninstall FI app or wipe the phone before installing USMobile esim. USM is sending me physical sim as they cannot get esim to work but I don't want to remove the Fi sim that has a burner number. Canyou give your steps please?

I'm not using eSIM in my S23. Other forum members do.

Successfully using US mobile eSim at my end for days now with the Fi physical sim still being there.. don't see an issue and the countdown is going down as expected.. I doubt Fi can actually enforce such a block to begin with considering the phone is fully unlocked..

And Fi app yet being there.. not uninstalled.. didn't factory reset my phone after activation..

Like every bill credit deal, they'll give you the actual value of the phone., but the trade in credits will stop.

Mailed mine last Saturday. Got there Sunday night. Out For Delivery Monday morning. USPS tracking still shows Moving Through Network. Meanwhile, Fi account showed they received the phone today and is inspecting it. Once your trade-in package gets to Nashville, the tracking info after that is worthless.
Seems like I am facing this fiasco too Frown

Probably will get the message "Unable to deliver. Business is closed on weekend". Big Grin
I dropped off my trade-in on Tuesday, 3/7 and the tracking now shows (Monday, 3/13 11:25AM):
Latest Update: We were unable to deliver your package at 8:48 am on March 11, 2023 in LA VERGNE, TN 37086 because the business was closed. We will redeliver on the next business day. No action needed.

Why did the post office even bother trying to deliver on Saturday? It shouldn't be news to them.

Have you checked with Fi support? I haven't read of any trade-in package that actually got lost once it got to the Nashville Distribution Center. They might show as Moving Through Network perpetually, but the warehouse actually gets it eventually.
