A family member who runs a major food gardening org uses fabric bags similar to these. They plant them with potting mix (not soil), plant fruit trees in them, and bury them about halfway in the ground. Apparently it greatly reduces circling/girdling (the entire point of air pruning pots) while not using quite as much water.

That said, he's a bit particular about quality, and most VIVOSUN products I've used have been fairly cheaply made. If you want to grow woody plants and want the best air pruning design on the market, look into the Air-Pot (made by Superoots). And while the knockoffs may or may not be quite as durable, many use exactly the same design.
That's way overpriced
Let them sit in a "pool" of water with an overflow hole up about 1.5" to 2" off the ground. Some people literally use kiddie pools, but it's tricky to get the water level with such a large pool, unless it's on a level concrete slab maybe.

With this method, you just need to add water to the pool... And if you use enough sphagnum peat moss, the water will just constantly wick upwards for the roots. Best method of having ever!!

Any reason to buy these over a 'generic' that regular price beats even the lightning deal?

Be careful with by off brand fabric pots. I've seen high levels of lead in some 3rd party tests. https://www.kisorganics.com/blogs...abric-pots

Because the link you were quoting was to a different brand of similar bags that are $2 less than the lightning deal on the Vivosun bags.

If you want the Vivo's then hit the lightning deal. If you don't care, these are a great substitute.

Stop planting things in partially degradable woven plastic that just pumps more microplastics into your water table, plants, food, etc.

Your local garden center will sell burlap and non plastic canvas for less.

Just found out that I enjoy growing basil indoors this year, so for the very first time I am going to grow a few things/ have a small garden. I was thinking it might save some money to grow a couple of the more expensive herbs and possibly tomatoes and possibly a pepper or two. Would these be useful for a small amount of gardening or for herbs at all?

I grow the lettuce in 3g fabric pots.

15g seems like way too big.

Just depends how big and robust you want to get the plant. I went from 3g to 7g and had the biggest harvest ever, by a lot.

Can you plant these in the ground to prevent root spreading (mint, etc.)?

What is a good price om "name-brand" bags?
Although this isn't a terrible "brand" and I have no reason to slander them, most of their products come out of the same Chinese generic factories as all the no-name and goofy-name brands on Amazon. There's surely nothing proprietary about most of what they sell, if not everything, so you'll probably do just as well picking any similar looking product. I've used multiple different generic/no-name brand fabric pots and never had a problem with any of them, and there are many cheaper options available in most sizes. Honestly, this is pretty good for 15-gallon though.

Do you care to elaborate, or are you just taking easy pot shots at them because you got one bad product or your expectations were unrealistic?

Edit: I doubt these 'name brand' are any better than the generic but I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the lighting deal for $2 more because I liked the dimensions better. These vivosun bags are shorter and wider than the generics I linked to.
Nope. They've done a bang up job promoting their stuff but to call Vivosun a "name brand" is a stretch. Same stuff as 100 other "brands." As with most of these off-brands, you'll find that some are a little better, some are a little worse, and most aren't too different.

For this price, you can buy a 80% new 15 gl black plastic pots from any local nursery. Last year I bought 6 pieces at $25, and gift some to friends.
