This is a super slow drive from the reviews I've seen.

There are different speeds. You need to buy the "Extreme Pro" version to get the highest speeds, but its pricey.

I've heard these are slow"er" than pricier competition but is 520mb/s actually bad for backing up photos intermittently?

Is Samsung's T7 touch worth the extra $30?

Tempting.. I've had a 1tb T7 shield for a while now that i use daily and its been fantastic, might just stick with the Samsung and upgrade to a 2tb version since its around $30 more than this Sandisk one.

I think for backing up photos the speed should be fine as long as it's not a giant amount of photos. the drive should slow down if a lot is written and the cache fills up.
