I'm mostly in m12 tools user but interested in a 7 1/4 saw. I have a ryobi 5 1/2 inch saw for $40 but it craps and doesn't cut well and might return it. But I don't have any m18 battery but a few 4ah regular ryobi battery. (and 2 9ah battery)
How is this 199 a good deal? Seems like 100 off 299 is a decent deal and not hot. Is it worth jumping to m18? I'm happy with m12 tools.
If you really want a good saw then this is it, comes with everything you need, including an HO battery. I doubt you'd easily find a high-end saw deal like this.

But a good mid range option might be the Kobalt.
I bought this saw before Xmas from toolup.com with the same battery for $219 and I thought it was a good deal. If it's still available and you need a saw that won't piss you off in the middle of a job then this is it. Cry once my friend.
Edit to add: Also look at the Ridgid saws for midrange pricing.

Thanks for your advice. I already have 3 diff battery platforms and don't wish to get into another.
I saw two of these about 3-4 days ago at a near by home depot and should have just pick one up but just couldn't pull the trigger for yet another battery platform.
For the same reason, i'd probably wouldn't buy Ridgid / Kobalt unless they have 40v. I have a few of those tools.
I probably keep the Ryobi and wait for the HP 7 1/4 version to go on sale to grab one. Don't need it right now but i'm keeping my eye on costco's yardistry green house to when the go on sale, I'll need this to build a platform for it.
