How's the build quality compares to MacBook/XPS/surface?

These seem overpriced to me. Not this particular post, but in general.

You can get an comparable Asus Vivobook for $450-$500. Both of these have been on sale recently, with 16 inch, 16:10 monitors, and comparable specs. Sure they have less RAM, but they have similar/better processors, and you should be able to upgrade them for less than the price difference.

For bout this price you can even get an OLED panel and next tier processor. https://slickdeals.net/f/16160752-asus-vivobook-16x-oled-4k-oled-16-10-ryzen-7-5800h-16gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-win11h-849-99-f-s

The only real reason I can see buying one would be portability and weight, but even then, you're making some trade-offs. The Linus Tech Tips review of these made them seem pretty flimsy.
Vivobook is budget laptop series, with comparatively lower grade build quality. LG Gram is top of the line premium lightweight laptops, giving use excellent battery life and mobility. If you are looking for performance laptops, this isn't your cup of coffee.

You can compare Asus zenbook or Lenovo Slim 7 series with it, none of those can be compared in weight category.

Both the i7 machines are not good value. The i5 is quite good.

Lightest laptop you will EVER use. Personally, I would go with OLED builds for the asthetics. I daily drive a 16" LG Gram 2in1 and probably wouldn't get one again.

They are more same than different. Both are round, juicy, sweet fruits. Different textures and flavors.

I can't argue with the weight, but Short Circuit (a channel associated with Lights Tech Tips) did a short review, and build quality was not great. Deck flex, keyboard inconsistencies, wobbly screens, and some so so hardware.

For people who value portability and lightness nothing comes close to the Gram series.

I have this (16", 16gb, 512gb). I love it. Also grabbed the +View for a crazy capable portable workstation.

That's a pretty accurate review. Not good at $2100. I got my 16" 2-in-1 for $800 though so I'm very happy with it. It's perfect for the road warrior, not good for gaming or video production.

I own two Grams - 17" and 15". I have had one for almost 2 years, and the other for about 1 year. They have stood up to being used around campus, traveling, inside, and outside. You can't beat the weight and it performs fine for me, but I don't do any gaming. Also, you can charge with included adapter or a USB-C cable and the proper charger.

Negative: the screen doesn't get extremely bright and is hard to see outside unless you are in the shade. When you are inside, the screen is vibrant.
