If you're upgrading now you're better off getting a motherboard that supports DDR5. Prices have hit rock bottom from a few months ago. It's a good time to buy if you're in the market.

I for one try not to spend more than $350 on cpu+board. It depends on your budget ofc but it lopsides my budget. If you build smart you can get 75~80% top performance compared to current fastest parts.
The research and getting the most out of your money is where the fun in pc building is.
The cpu here is about 35% faster than a 5600x I have. For $300 you can get a 5800x3d which is still not equal but a beast in gaming I'm told.

intel 13700k is $440, and can go down to $400 on sale. with budget of $200 on motherboard, you can get DDR5 ram version for like $20 more.
