Price tag wasn't even discounted on the shelf (I went back for more when it rang up at half price). Online is regular price, call the warehouse and ask.
I'm pretty sure these don't work with low voltage lighting, which is generally 12V, not 120V. Maybe you meant low wattage?
Regardless, unless your wiring is not the proper gauge, I don't see why these would heat based on the lighting load. It is just the switch, not like it provides the power source or a transformer.
Dimmer switches supposed to turn on and off repeatedly and that's what makes them run hotter.
High wattage, sorry, on 120V I had almost 800 Watts of light, horrible design, my dimmer (this one) would get pretty hot, 95-98 F warm to touch. Some people said no problem, but I wasn't comfortable. Swapped the lights with LEDS that consume about 12-15Watts each, similar light output, total under 100 watts, and warming stopped. It was running cool as cucumbers.
