For folks asking about the 12 months of service part, all of that is answered in the original thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/16487416-mint-mobile-128gb-google-pixel-7-unlocked-smartphone-12-month-4gb-plan-289-recovery-fee-port-in-required-free-s-h?page=76#commentsHeader

tldr: Needs to be a ported in number. GV works (create a new gmail account, pay google $3 to port out). People who dont care about the 12 months mint service can just discard the activation kit and treat this as a $289 unlocked phone.

Oh - I see it as a non-factor. Most are getting the deal (seemingly) for the good price on the phone. I don't even want the plan shipped with it, was able to flip it for $50 bucks.

Yeah, but you could sell the phone, basically get the plan for free, plus extra cash; if the phone isn't tied to Mint.
Phone is completely unlocked just like buying from the google store. No mint splash screen, etc.

My brother has the 7 Pro. I can tell you that his front camera is garbage, and it's the Pro model. You could imagine what this one is like. He also said there's no HDMI video output, double tap to sleep, native dual apps, smart view (which mirrors to anything) so Google blocks specific devices from connecting, etc. If you're coming from a Samsung device, it will take time to adjust. Luckily, I just need a phone with a decent rear camera, calling and texting.
Smart View is a Samsung name for screen mirroring. Pixel mirrors fine, just not to Amazon fire stick due to Google and Amazon blocking each other.

HDMI output works on my 4A 5G, not sure why it wouldn't on newer phones.

Not sure what you mean by native dual apps, obviously something I haven't used I guess.

Thank you! Was waiting for this deal to restock! Probably will just sell the sim.

I ordered an hour ago the review email, but no follow up yet. Should I be worried? What exactly is being reviewed here…
Have you gotten an order confirmed email yet? Ordered 2pm MT and still haven't gotten any further emails besides the Order Review email. Checked the status of my order on lookup page, and it has my address info and order, but status says "No information available". Not looking good for me.

now that T-Mobile bought out Mint I'm expecting the monthly service price and phone prices to all double. Mergers, where customers always lose.
These "deals" will probably go away but I don't see them changing the plans in the near future. No sense in paying over $1B for a company that has built up their customer base on a very specific price point and then losing a lot of those customers.

If they're doing an e-SIM now, that's different. The old one from a couple weeks back was physical SIMs.
You can choose either one right on the page where you select the plan etc.

Getting SIm1 not allowed using metro sim card? Reached out to mint and they took 5 days to mint unlock and need to reachout to google for permanent unlock. Any idea if we need to go throgh all this process to get it unlocked?
It happens occasionally. These phones are unlocked but for some reason every now and then one leaves google with the wrong coding in it. Mint can't actually lock Pixels (if they could, they would, like they do with Apple and Samsung).

Getting SIM1 not allowed message when sing Metro sim card.
Called mint mobile and thay took 5 days to unlock the device and mentioned to reach out to google for manufacturer unlock? Any suggestions that we need to go throgh all these steps to get it unlocked?
Unfortunately with mint the only option is to return it within 7 days and buy again, somehow a carrier locked phone slipped into their batch. It is not mint locked, they can't lock pixels. So google must have sent a verizon or at&t or whomever locked phone to mint. You can try your luck with google but make sure not to go over the 7 day return window.

I am currently with mint 6month plan ending this month can I port this number from mint to other service and again move to mint so to get 1 year?
No you have to port out for 90 days and by then the SIM would have expired.

Metro SIM is already activated and showing in Pixel 7 but shows as temporarily unavailable in Settings and SIM1 not allowed after restart. The same SIM is working on another phone.
How old is the SIM? Get a new one if more than a year or so - preferably eSIM.

Not saying I believe it, but I had the thought that this deal could be related to the sale of Mint. Have to assume it takes months at least to buy companies, so if you're running Mint how do you drive up the price? I'd run a loss leader promotion. Take a minor cash hit, but both customers and new customers rise right when you're negotiating terms. Looks nice in a PowerPoint.

The problem with that conspiracy theory is they restocked the Pixels while the promo is running and the sale is announced. They could have waited a couple weeks, the promo is over, money made.

Also, if you want to get customers you'd do this with an iPhone.
The deal was just announced and hasn't closed yet. They had these phones on order weeks ago.

I guarantee you every deal like this has been to drive up subscriber numbers. Mint has been up for sale for years, someone finally bit.

Until the deal closes, they will continue running promos to drive subscriber numbers up even more, in case the deal falls through and they need a new buyer.

so I could ask my current AT&T number to get eSIM to put into this phone, and then still port-in another number, GoogleVoice or whatnot, to activate the 12-month SIM card and then I can run this phone in dual SIM mode?
Yes, correct.

Yeah, I can't get past the Pixel part. If they wanted numbers, they'd take a loss on an iPhone or maybe Samsung. Doing it for a Pixel is pointless.

The integrated dual apps (cloning) feature allows you to have multiple Instagram/Facebook/WhatsApp/Messenger/etc apps on your phone; all with different accounts and separate contacts, without creating a work profile. Even the $50 Samsung A03s has this.

As far as I know, you can't just use a type-c to HDMI to mirror on newer Pixels. I think my brother tried it.

Smart View/DeX mirroring is far superior to the Pixel's Chromecast mirroring capabilities. As I said though, I just need my phone for calling and texting, but some people might expect things like that to work out of the box; not with this phone.

Many apps I use support multiple accounts.

Am I crazy or do the "integrated dual apps" sound a lot like something dudes use when they're cheating?
