This or the 5500 if you're on a tighter budget.

This has been 139$ for the last couple weeks on Amazon so this isn't much of a deal

The 5600 is supposed to be better than the 5500.

My understanding is that the 5500 is basically the 5600g with the APU disabled.

So older architecture and also less L3 cache space?

But if you search for comparisons between the 5600g and 5600, it should be applicable to 5500 vs 5600 as well.

If you're on a budget the 5500 might be okay and is something that I've considered. But look to see the price difference with the 5600g, which will give you integrated graphics some where between a 1030 and 1050, and the 5600 for the better performance. I think the last time I looked it was about a $30 and $40 price difference respectively. So it's up to you if it's worth paying for.

Also you might already know but the 5500 and 5600 doesn't come with integrated graphics. So you'd need a dedicated gpu if you didn't factor that in already and going with one of those.

Two things: The 5600 is worlds ahead of the 5500, the latter being an APU without the graphics, small cache and only PCIe Gen 3.

Second, $135 is a lot of money and is not a Slick deal. Same price they have been for months.

I am buying OEM from Aliexpress, bought two separate ones for < $94 each. The first is already built into a working system (mini ITX). Second CPI is on order from same seller. 100% legit with the sticker but does not have the Spire CPU fan (that I have no use for anyway).

The 5500 is basically a slightly better ryzen 5 3600

5600g = GPU but less cache ram
5600 = Full cache but no GPU
5600x = slightly overclocked version, identical to the 5600 in every way. (you can OC the 5600 for free to the same speed as the X if needed)

They don't exist... at least right now. I check Ali all the time too. Right now everything is really stuck and Ali is barely undercutting US prices. yeah maybe you can get an unboxed for $110, with coupons maybe get it down to $105.... but you are waiting 3+weeks and no retail box/cooler... all to save $20-30?

At least we are seeing some movement on AMD prices, you usually see this after come Jan/early Feb but everything seems delayed this year.

Not so. I placed an order five days ago. They most certainly do exist.

Order date: Mar 26, 2023

NEW AMD Ryzen 5 5600 R5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core 12-Thread CPU Processor 7NM L3=32M 100-000000927 Socket AM4 No Fan
US $124.38x1
12 days delivery Free Return On-time guarantee
Total: US $94.11

On Aliexpress if you snooze, you lose. Now, if you look at your watch and check Aliexpress a particular minute and don't find what I found less than a week ago does that mean "it doesn't exist"? No, it does not mean that. My second, $94 Ryzen 5 5600 has already cleared customs and I should have it maybe Monday or Tuesday.

They are definitely legit from this particular seller a very large computer company I dealt with before that has 100% positive feedback rating over 600 ratings in a month. That's an honest, high-volume dealer with a lot of satisfied customers, myself included. And that's why they get my repeat business.

Indeed. I posted this a week or so ago on Slickdeals. It's my 5600 I just bought. CPU-Z validator link attached.

OUT OF THE BOX five minutes after I finished the build it beats the average bench score for a 5600x no tuning whatsoever just the stock ASRock B550M-ITX/ac M/B settings.

The newest Ryzen 5600 arrived today from Aliexpress. It only took 8 days after I placed the order, less than that if you figure I ordered it at night. $94 shipped to my door in 8 days. Very comparable, or quicker, than getting something from Newegg for example. Not 2-3 weeks: 8 days.

The other user was asking for a link and you keep posting "trust me bro I got a great deal, trust me". No one is questioning you can buy legit product from Ali. Shipping has been faster recently, I just got something today I ordered in 16 days rather than the estimated 21. But again, the prices stay pretty competitive to US prices, cheapest since the other user was asking for a link to $94 AMD 5600's.....has been a steady $110-$115. I am glad you got something cheap, but it isn't available so stop posting about it as if anyone can buy it.
