Good catch, I did mean S3422DWG.
Not sure how much of a difference there is, but S3422DWG uses a VA panel vs an IPS with Gigabyte. There's potential for smearing and worse colors on VA. Just something to consider.

Quote from slickseason :
I'll be using it mostly for work, graphic and video design where having an extreme curve isn't all that desirable as it can distort the image, and a UHD screen will allow me to view 4k videos in full resolution (or edit 1080p videos with half of the vertical space reserved for a timeline full of laeyrs). 60hz isn't great but it's less important to me since I won't really be gaming on this.

I went to Best Buy and checked out other 32 inch 16:9 monitors that were totally flat and the ergonomics worked fine for me.

I agree with you it's not perfect but that Dell was the best option I had at this price point.

Oh, if you're not gaming and you're doing graphic design then I fully retract my statement. I did assume you were gaming. My bad.

Easy there killa.
The response is specific to what's included in the quote. Most people (most likely not including you) get hung up on screen size and do not think about aspect ratios. A 34" 16:10 would be far easier to utilize than a 34" 21:9 for the horizontal plane. The statement still sticks that not just personal, but the majority of users will say 34" ultrawide almost becomes a requirement to be curved, and that the even wider brother 49" ultrawide (dual QHD) monitor is a must for being curved.

FWIW, after having a flat 34" ultrawide for the past 5 years, I was in the camp that it didn't really matter and it was a gimmick.
fair enough.
i'll 100% agree on the 49'' being curved, that's a no brainer... even for me Wink

fwiw, i just rolled the dice on another Amazon Warehouse "Used Acceptable" M34WQ for 284$ to put on the wall above my current monitor (which was also a Used Acceptable and looked better than the New monitor I grabbed at the same time, just didn't have retail box.)

I have been searching for a good pair of monitors for two weeks now. I almost settled on the Asus ProArt PA279CV, but decided to explore other options. I spend more than 12 hours a day on my computer working and playing. I mainly use it for graphic design, programming, music production, and media consumption. I have never been picky about my screens and currently use a 42" Vizio TV or my 27" Acer thin screen. I have never owned a monitor capable of more than 30Hz at 1080p, and I don't game. I want to use these two monitors with my M1 Mac Mini, which has a base capable of 4K@60Hz, and I have purchased a hub capable of the same. Both are able to bypass the M1 monitor limitation. I have a shortlist of 10+ monitors but feel like I am not making progress in choosing one. My budget is $400 per monitor, but I would like to spend less if possible. I need a lot of monitor space as I am a super multitasker with 10 open windows that I switch between constantly. I hope someone can give me some solid advice on what to consider or at least a direction on where to focus my search. Thanks in advance.
