I realy like this one..

been running all kind of benchmarks.. the 3060 dont go over 75 degrees..

Close to 18,000 score on Cinebench.. amazing.. beating 16/32 core/thread ADM Threadripper
(Screenshots at the bottom)

build quality is amazing, i hate Lenovo putting numpads on they gaming laptop keyboards..

Keyboard on the ROG awesome 1.7mm travel, big keys, alot of space.. huge trackpad..

Display is fk great.. 16" 1920x1200 500 nits .. alot of space..

Soo many ports.. including an RJ45 Ethernet one, Laptop can charge with USB-C when on the go, The WiFi card is not soldered - can be upgraded if needed..

Fans are loud under max stress yeah, no way arround it, you want it to be able to cool of the silicone..

Going to install an 2T Samsung 990Pro SSD i got fro one of the current deals here - $144 and should be perfect

i have no complains about that one.. exactly what i wanted.. did not need stronger video card, the display res is perfect for the 3060 to run.. etc etc.. keeping it.

Please correct this listing. The screen resolution is 2560 x 1600! That is also the way BB lists it under "Specifications." To get that resolution all you need to do is go into the NVDIA graphics software and choose "custom settings" and set the screen to 2560x1600 . After that when you check your display settings in Windows you will see it is now 2560 x 1600. I got this for $1200 (open box excellent) on BF —it is an excellent laptop. It has a second NVMe SSD slot so if you put a fast 2TB drive in that second slot you are all set. I also got a one inch tall laptop stand with 4 fans for $35 and that keeps the onboard fans from having to work hard but that isn't really necessary. I really like this laptop but note that when you buy open box your factory warranty starts from the day the prior owner bought the item.

res is 1920x1200

you have an diferend laptop..
this one is Model: GU603ZM

let me guess you have the year earlier model with 11th gen i7 or i9 CPU?

No you are wrong. I have this exact model with the 12th Gen i7 as stated in the receipt for my online model

Model:
GU603ZM-M16.I73060
SKU:
6494642

If you check the Best Buy specs you will see this exact model is shown as having a screen resolution of 2560x1600. Yes it comes set with a resolution of 1920x1200 but I I called Asus tech support and they said that although the screen on this unit is capable of 2560x1600 but windows will not allow a higher resolution on that screen. I don't know if that is correct or not — I am not here to defend Asus tech support—but I went into the Nvidia software and selected custom resolution and set the screen to 2560x 1600 and after reboot that is the resolution that I got. Once you do this you can check Windows display settings and it will show as 2560x1600

Note: I have used the Asus software that comes with the laptop to bypass the Intel graphics on my laptop so my unit will always use the Nvidia card. I am not sure if the "fix" will work if you are using the Intel graphics.

Ahhchtually,

According to Asus it's a 1200p native resolution

https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/r...gid=143997

What you are doing is Super Sampling through the nvidia control panel. So no, it's not a 1600p screen for this model.

Yes Asus tech support told me that is what they are required by MS to set as the limit in order to advertise this unit as a Windows 11 laptop with this screen. I have the 2022 GU603ZM-M16.I73060 model . If you bypass the Intel graphics and set it to only use the Nvidia card and then go to the Nvidia software you can set the resolution to 2560x1600. I have done it and I have previously posted a screen shot of my Windows Display settings showing that is the resolution.

You could be right about supersampling except I never checked the box that is required to enable that feature. To supersample you (supposedly at least) must check the box entitled "Enable Resolutions not exposed by the display". The unit came with the display at 1900x1200 and I did not check that box in the Nvidia software and that box is not checked now. I suppose it is possible that the Nvidia software did this supersampling process by itself without my checking the box to authorize it --but then why even have the box requiring that I authorize it. Moreover, when I went to the customizing section it said 1900x1200 (native) but above that in "Custom" it had only one option -- namely 2560 x 1600. I did not randomly create this resolution - it was offered as (the only) custom setting by the Nvidia software. Maybe that is how it works --by offering you the next logical step up or something like that but it did not offer any different lesser or greater options --although if I had enabled the supersampling I could have created any resolution on my own. In any case the guy at Asus tech said that the screen's highest possible resolution could not be utilized because of MS Windows 11 policies--maybe he meant it was limited by the Intel graphics or maybe he meant something different altogether . Also all of the icons appear much smaller after this change which is consistent with an actual higher resolution--I am not sure if that would be the case with supersmapling but maybe it is.

Repped bro,

this guy keeps argung like theres only one panel res on M16s lol

this ones 1200p and i love it, i dont want the higher one..

RTX3060 w 1200p perfect..

i did not want a higher video card or higher res panel..

right now you can get the i9 with 3070Ti for $1,550 plus tax..
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6494637

i like mine for $550 cheaper, and 70 degrees GPU temp on Manual overclocked 3060..

the 3070Ti will be hitting 90s and the i9 can not hold higher frequencies cus it get too hot aswell..

I used to swear by Asus ROG lines of gaming laptops. But no more. Lenovo Legion/Pro series for me from now on.
I'm a big fan of both. I think these two are the top laptop makers right now. We have 1 G14 and 2 Lenovo 5i Pros. Really impressed with all of them. Legion's build quality/chassis is unmatched by anybody but both have pros and cons. Asus rog g/m lines are more compact/portable with lower wattage GPUs to keep the heat down, while Legion is bulky but has excellent cooling and top of the line performance, but not as portable/sexy looking.

As a desktop replacement, I would go with Legion 5 Pro any day. But as a productivity/gaming machine where I may need to travel a bit or pack it to work everyday it's a very easy G14/M16 choice. G15 is pointless IMO in their line up since laptop is identical to M16 but with fatter chin on the bottom of the screen. May as well go for M16 and get that extra vertical screen real estate. Also, I'm a sucker for upward firing speakers.

Yup, I agree. I used and currently still use my gaming laptops as desktop replacement 90% of the time. Thus thermal dissipation and noise level matter more to me than thin and light.

Just cause there's a competing deal doesn't make this deal terrible as you say. I could care less for display as my laptops are always docked at home, office, and other office. Don't discourage posters from putting up decent deals. That's a trolls job. Are you a troll?
