Would I recommend this to a friend? No
  • Friend of mine had his died, took it to get repaired and it was a problem with the board
  • Another thing is, 16GB is low these days. If you are playing older/indie games, you're good. If you like new games on new engines with nice graphics, 16GB is too little, that is not a joke
  • Dealing with Asus warranty is a nightmare (I'm sure comments will counter this, saying Chinese tech giants have the best warranties out there, just incredible but there is a difference between reality and fiction)
How did your friend even get this model when this literally came out very recently? I smell complete BS.

I literally didn't even know this configuration was a thing until I saw this post, and I've been scouring PC related releases and deals for a family member that needs machines for a new business they started for the past two weeks lol.

Reviews have been out over a month anyway. Gaming performance is somewhere in the range of 3060/4050 to 3070Ti/4060/4070.

It's optional, it's more expensive to include, same reason not every Intel laptop has thunderbolt

Mobile is where the market is.

Ngreedia is just being ngreedia. They know their clown customers will pay for inflated desktop prices, plus severely cut down dies.

This is a Zen3 chip according to their new, confusing numbering system, correct?

Intel also screws with their number system for fun and so does Nvidia. Heck iPhone released the 8 and X at the same time (but you need to pronounce the X like 10) skipping the 9 and so did Windows. It must be taught at business school

This is part of the Rembrandt re-release, so basically a 6800HS with some feature updates, a slightly higher clock and higher TDP. That would make it 'Zen 3+' with RDNA2 GPU. At 12cu it's the fastest RDNA2 APU, beat only by the very newest rnda3 APUs just coming out.

I'm not sure why this APU would be paired with this GPU, it seems like either a standard CPU would be a better choice, or no GPU, for a cheap, long-battery gaming laptop.

Graphics appear switchable and have a MUX switch, so I suppose you could stick with the integrated graphics on the go, and still play quite a few games. With the power in this chip, though, the crossover where you'd use discrete graphics becomes a bigger layer of overlap.

I never said this exact model. Downvote this too and smell what you like xDDD

Edit:

On Reddit right now, stumbled across it.. another Asus

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmaster...this_safe/

Battery bulging, ruined

But yeah, I am clueless! xD
What does that have to do with anything tho? Totally different model.

I had an HP ELITEBOOK for work that was bulging like that. Tbf it spent almost it's entire life on a dock but like, that one model had a battery issue, not going to cause me to never buy an HP again.
