What a ripoff. The Teamgroup 2TB ssd is $70. Why is this ancient Samsung drive almost 50% more? It's like Samsung is still in lala-land and falling back on their old tactics of ripping people off.

In Samsung SSDs, PRO indicates the SSD uses MLC, EVO indicates the SSD uses TLC, and QVO indicates the SSD uses QLC.

MLC, short for Multi-Level Cell, means that one memory cell can store 2 bits of data. TLC, 3 bits of data. QLC, 4 bits of data, and so on. For example, in the same condition, a SLC flash chip has a capacity of 128 GB; a MLC, 256 GB (double); a TLC, 384 GB (triple); and a QLC, 512 GB (quadruple).

Therefore, PRO SSD is the most expensive, then the EVO SSD, and finally the QVO SSD. However, we did not see QVO's price is one half of that of PRO.

Thanks for spelling this out, I never knew the difference. I'm assuming MLC has better longevity? Performance. Also curious on the warranties of the Samsung compared to the Teamgroup SSD's.

Not that ancient. The 870 QVO is newer than the 860 QVO and both are newer (not better) than the 870 EVO.

Same argument could be made between Mitsubishi and toyota. Let me know how you feel a year into your choice.

This is no longer accurate. Some of the newer Samsung PRO drives (notably the 980 PRO and 990 PRO) are TLC. Confusingly, Samsung calls it 3-bit MLC.
