I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

Do you know if a trade-in phone needs to be activated?
Got a cheap Tracfone A03 at Best Buy without a plan. As I understand it, its activation requires at least 1 month plan purchase.
From what I can tell, the trade-in phone doesn't need to be activated as long as it has been factory reset. In fact, the phone could even be SIM-locked and still be eligible for trade-in.

The associate told me if I paid in full, it will be unlocked. And I tried other carrier at home, it works.
Can someone else confirm this? Try another sim in their S23 series that haven't been requested for unlock and see if it works?

Also, can someone get the CSC value on their S23 series? When you go to your phone settings->about phone->software information and look in the Service Provider Software Version section (value of XXX/YYY/ZZZ). This helps us determine if Spectrum is putting their own custom firmware on the S23.

Activation isn't necessary and Tracfone falls in the "Other" carrier category, but A03 is not on the list. Hopefully you just left off the s, because A03 is a different phone than A03s.

This is what they accept so far.

Trade in ca tax on full $799. Big FU to ca

S23 ($799) - 6a ($730) + tax on $799. Total $131.00 for s23

Not worth the full tax for me personally. I'll save it for future trade in for S2x ultra

Not going to spell it out but has anyone else figured out the infinite money glitch here?

Took my first 2xS23 I purchased and traded them in. One for an S23U with another $200 OOP. Total $378 and an old janky phone for a new S23U.

Second S23 traded in for S23+ as an experiment. Refunded $0.01.

I have 3 other lines on my account using Iphones. Used 3 old phones to buy S23 for $178 each. Didnt bother activating because my family would be upset not using Iphones. Traded in next day on S23 for $200.01 refund each.

Repeated again with the 3xS23. You can see where this is going.

Right now I have stopped. I have two locations and both recognize me. Since I use these phone numbers I cant risk losing them. Money is refunding to my card and not account credit. In larger cities and some free time?

This will only work in states with instant trade in and no tax on the full amount. Must pay in full. Must swap S23 for S23. No extra money for S23+ to S23 because every other transaction is only $0.01.

Good luck all.

They can probably track your trade-ins and promotion usage in their system. No one cares until your usage exceeds certain bounds and norms. If it's an account that you care about, then don't abuse it or risk getting banned.

See the post below yours. Trade 1: Broken S8+ for S23, get $600 credit. Trade 2 (wait a while): Trade S23 for S23u, get $1000 credit.

Swollen battery or any other uncertain issues, trade-in instore. If they accept it, deal's done.

I'm going to upgrade my new Spectrum S23 to the S23+. Anyone know if Spectrum can see previous upgrades and trade-in's? Do they really care?

Yes they care, the $600 bonus in only on new lines per the T&Cs. Add a new line and then port out just before your next bill, at least you followed the stated rules.

Yes the point is it works but the terms say NEW LINE:

Promotion requires customers to trade in qualifying device, add a new line, purchase and activate a new phone. If new phone paid in full, credit applied to purchase. If new phone financed, credit applied to bill in pro-rated increments for the duration of the Device Payment Plan. If the final trade-in value exceeds the cost of the new device, the difference will be refunded to your Spectrum Mobile Account. Trade-in device must have a value greater than $1. Visit spectrummobile.com/tradein [spectrum.net] for details. Restrictions apply. Subject to change.

Of course they can, which is why I said I am not going further. Plus, at some point, they will run out of S23s locally where I live.

I wonder if the box needs to be opened for the phone to be activated and/or unlocked.
Could be kept in new-in-box condition?
