I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

I wonder if the box needs to be opened for the phone to be activated and/or unlocked.
Could be kept in new-in-box condition?
I guess it has to be activated to get it unlocked.

In CA. Ordered S23 online (with trade-in) along with new line 3-4 days ago. Apart from them asking for ID-validation the next day, there has been no update about the order.

Update:
  1. Phone can be activated without having to open the box, so it can be left sealed new-in-box.
  2. I imagine the same is true for unlocking, but I haven't yet confirmed.
  3. The promo terms require that the phone be activated, so that step is mandatory.
This probably also means that activation is using eSIM or that somehow a physical SIM card is already inserted.

It is a physical SIM pre-installed. No way to use the phone line without opening the box. Same goes for unlocking, requires phone to be Wifi or Network connected.

Trade in ca tax on full $799. Big FU to ca

S23 ($799) - 6a ($730) + tax on $799. Total $131.00 for s23

Not worth the full tax for me personally. I'll save it for future trade in for S2x ultra
Dude, not just California they tax you full in most states

Hopefully you just left off the s, because A03 is a different phone than A03s.
Yeah, I made a typo (the phone I have is A03s).

Can someone else confirm this? Try another sim in their S23 series that haven't been requested for unlock and see if it works?

Also, can someone get the CSC value on their S23 series? When you go to your phone settings->about phone->software information and look in the Service Provider Software Version section (value of XXX/YYY/ZZZ). This helps us determine if Spectrum is putting their own custom firmware on the S23.
I bought 2 phones, both were locked. I had to call them to unlock. Chat didn't help. Took Less than 5 minutes to unlock

Has anyone traded twice on the same line? One for a new line and one for upgrade?

Of course they can, which is why I said I am not going further. Plus, at some point, they will run out of S23s locally where I live.
But there is nothing on the trade-in deal that says you can't do this. So, why would they ban you?

I am looking for this. I traded in my 6A to get S23 for $74 including taxes. Now, I am tempted to trade in S23 for S23 Ultra. I just don't know what would happen if trade it in on the same line and upgrade

Thanks. If Samsung is like Apple in that they keep a central database of each phone's lock status, that could mean that a phone can be unlocked without ever powering it on or without even breaking the seal on the box.
Does anyone know more?
