I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

Did s23 to s23 trade in today at store. I was told, credit will go back to the account. Anyway to get the credit back on credit card?
Yes just call 833-224-6603 and have the credit put back on your credit card and get the phone unlocked.

Tried In-store and of course the were OOS. (did ask first if they had it before the trade in deal)
Ordered online and will ship the Samsung Galaxy A11 trade-in (pretty much new with case and screen cover on it always, parents phone)
Ordered the green S23 .

Might trade in the S23 ($1,000) towards the S23+ or Ultra before the Spectrum offer ends.

Just confirming this is non contact and I can cancel the plan after I unlock the phone? (Sounds like 60 days unlock, unless you get lucky with an instant unlock)

Everything can be done online. However, some SDers prefer to do this instore since trade-in credit applies immediately and (depending on your state) the credit could lower your tax. It's your preference mainly, whatever you are comfortable with. You should wait until after you unlock AND receive your trade-in credit, which would be 2 - 3 months at $14 / line (cheapest plan).

So I can trade in this s23 for the ultra version? How much does the upgrade cost?
yes, if you pay for the first S23 in full. After your payment processes, Spectrum (so far) adds an invitation on your my spectrum web page under mobile on the S23 link, to upgrade the now paid in full S23. Because of the ongoing Samsung promotion, so far they indicate that you will get $400 for the S23, plus the $600 Samsung promotion.

A store may or may not allow the second upgrade as a promotional upgrade. If not, you can probably proceed online through the Spectrum website. Just follow the links from your Spectrum invite to upgrade to the Ultra.

One downside to doing the second upgrade online is that they probably charge state tax for the entire purchase price. If you can pay in full in the store, in some states, the tax is on the difference after the trade in. Another is that for the online upgrade, the $1,000 is a credit applied to your account within two billing cycles of the approved S23 trade-in physical return. lastly, you have to return the S23 by a provided mailing label by email (from earlier posts).

At least to date, Spectrum is actively inviting us to do the second trade, there is no funny business there. They clearly say that because you paid in full, you are now invited anytime to do an upgrade to any of the following phones ... Of course this all ends June 30, unless Spectrum extends the Samsung $600 promotional bonus.

The upside to doing the second upgrade online is you don't have to deal with a Spectrum person who might be unaware of the Spectrum programs , or a Spectrum agent in a store may have an agenda, like I'm not going to let this person double dip, in the view of the agent or her manager.

YMMV, many of us have not completed the process. Something may still go wrong, or a credit be withheld. So far, most report success.

Okay, this looks promising, here is the email language for the online order trade-in return:
What's next?

Click here to download your shipping instructions and prepaid shipping label to send us your device. From this link, you can also check the status of your Trade-In at any time.

Please follow the shipping instructions closely. Once you ship your device to us, you can no longer cancel your Trade-In. You'll receive an email with Trade-In details as soon as we process your device.

Thank you,
Assurant Trade-In Team

I traded in twice to get to s23+ in store (used hsn a03 phone to get s23 then s23 to s23+) and then got an unlock via phone instantly. I ported my number out to tello to cancel the spectrum mobile account and may just pay tello $5/month to keep number alive for porting promotions in the future.

How does the Spectrum port out process work, I've never done it. Is there a temporary transfer PIN? Also, did you call to get the phones unlocked? I just tried via Chat and was told to call for unlock.

I also had to call to get unlock. Annoying but they did it for me when citing I travel lut of country. Port out I did 100% thru tello...very easy and I did set a pin when I created my mobile account last week which was needed to port out number to tello. Pretty painless

Is the Pin the same as the Voicemail Pin, or is it the security pin?
