    Had this installed since November, just got into an accident on February. The dash cam recorded everything up the point of impact then it shut off even though it was plugged in still, I Was able to retrieve the footage in 4k video.

    I actually bought this and the "budget" recommendation from Linus. DO NOT BOTHER with the budget rec for $70-80. Just get the VIOFO V3 A119 on sale for $80 and call it a day.
    The screen makes a huge, huge difference when positioning the camera. And it comes with all the accessories you need!

    A dashcam continually records. Old recordings are replaced constantly. The card gets overwritten thousands of times. In a phone, it's static storage. An endurance card is meant for security systems and can take that abuse. Standard cards cannot. They will quickly wear out and die.

    I am aware it is 2k camera. At their max non-interpolated resolution, you get 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratios. At these ratios, you also record useless sky or car hood. The 4k resolution offers ultra wide ratio. It can see better both sides of your car.

    You need fast sdcard (v3 rating) to support 4k recording.

    By the way, I have been using non-endurance card without problems for years. Just make sure it's brand name (Samsung, Sandisk) and legit.

    Good value, but wouldn't touch it because it lacks some important feature. If you're going to get a dash cam, make sure it has a rear camera as well. At least it has a GPS logger. That's also very important if you ever have to go to court.

    I agree. I'm ready to replace my warranty-replaced Aukey DR02d (no longer recommended after being booted from Amazon) with a Viofo 4K A129 Pro Duo I got on a very good deal last year.

    My cars have been rear-ended 4 times in my life; the last time the drunk driver totaled the car and then fled. I've never had a front-end collision. Although I've captured an accident and provided footage to the victim once. The combination of the front and rear videos proved that the offender did not even slow down when approaching the red light she blasted through.
